My mind is so fogged with confusion. What am I gonna do? I can't do this, I'm to young, I'm just now working on my relationship with God, how am I supposed to be someone for them to look up To? I'm just not good enough for that.

As I walked to my car i heard my phone ringing in my purse. My hands fumbled around looking through my purse for the darn phone. And after grabbing it I took the call and held the phone to my ear.
"Hello?" I said and I was greeted by a familiar voice. "Well hello Stace. How was church?" Devin's voice flooded my mind as I held the phone to my ear. "Well, it was great for the most part." I said trailing off and thinking about what I had been pulled into doing. I heard him laugh on the other end of our call. "What do you mean for the most part?" "Well I've been drug into hosting a slumber party for the girls in youth." I said with a sigh and he started laughing again. "Hey this ain't funny! I can't handle 14 teenage girls." I said starting to freak out a bit. "You'll be fine." he said trying not to laugh all the more at my reaction. "So what did you call about?" I asked suspiciously. "Uh well, I wanted to invite you over for my families Independence Day celebration. It's this weekend and I figured it would be nice to have someone there I could talk to and get out of stuff with." He said as he chuckled nervously. Wait, is he inviting me to a family function? Uh, I mean I have spent a lot of time around him and his parents and of course his older brother and little sister, but the whole family? Is he asking me as a friend, or is there more to this he isn't saying? Oh gosh my stomach is flip flopping. "Uh, Stace, you there?" He asked concerned. "Oh yes, I'm here. Uh sure, I'd love to be there. What should I wear?" I asked nervously. "Well it's an outdoor thing, so just anything you feel comfortable in. It's not fancy or nothing, just a nice family BBQ. There will be fireworks and some swimming, so you could wear your swim suit under your clothes or something." "Okay, sounds great." I replied and with that I let him go and drove off heading home.

Okay, so now I have a party to be at and a girls night to plan. I don't think I can do this, I really don't. How did I get myself into all of this? I'm not made for this kind of stuff.
As my keys twisted inside the lock of my front door I noticed the reflection in one of the windows next to the door. There was a young guy walking up behind me, I quickly twisted around to figure out who it was and in front of me stood an average height, blond with green eyes. "Hi, Stacey." He said with a smile.
"Oh my gosh, Lachlan? Is that you?" I asked in disbelief and he nodded. I ran over and embraced him tightly. "You've grown into a fine young man. Look at you!" I said gesturing to his height and appearance. "Yes ma'am I have. And you have certainly turned into a beautiful young woman!" He said with a smile that made me blush.

Okay so let me explain who this is. This is Lachlan, Devin's older brother. He is four years older then Devin, and I haven't seen him in about 6 years. He had joined the military and was shipped off to all sorts of training camps and stations after he graduated at 18. He is about to turn 24, and I had no idea he was back home. But let's get back to the moment.

"I didn't know you were back home." I said before motioning for him to come inside the house with me. "Well I just got back this morning, in fact that is what Devin was so busy with. See I didn't get back until about 3am. So everyone was super exhausted." He said taking a seat on the couch since we had made it in side the house. "Well I'm glad to see you, but why are you here when you should be spending time with your family?" I asked suspiciously and he grinned. I swear his smile is just like Devin's, although he has his father's blonde hair instead of his mother's brown hair, like Devin does. But the smile was completely the same, you could tell they were brothers. "Well I wanted to come and see my little brothers girl." He said and a flash of confusion went through my mind. "Excuse me, what are you talking about?" I asked and he flashed a smile of amusement. "I know he doesn't realize it, but he has been in love with you for years now. I honestly thought that by the time I got back home, you two would be married." He said chuckling and my heart stopped. Holy cow! What is he saying?
"What? Really?" I asked in disbelief. "Yeah, I know you two have been best buds for years and all, but I think he seriously loves you deep down, he just hasn't realized it yet. And I haven't been home in years now, but when you were 14, I saw the way you looked at him. I can tell you have already realized your feelings for him." As he said those words I think I may have died, my heart is racing and my mind feels hazy. Could Lachlan be right?
"Did I scare you?" He asked with a 'oops' look on his face. I shook my head but then nodded. I wasn't sure which one was correct, I was freaking out but I don't think I'm scared.
"Well which is It? Yes or no? He chuckled "umm. No you didn't. I'm just shocked that you would say all of that. Was the whole reason you came here, just to tell me all that?"
"No. Your family and mine has always been close and I know I wasn't here when your parents died, so I wanted to come see how you were. Lots has happened since I've been gone, and I wanted to catch up with a major part of my lil' brothers life. How are you doing?" He asked like nothing had been said before and I tried to calm myself to answer that.
"Uh, well I've been better. Right now I'm trying to wrap my head around what you said, Because I don't believe he has ever felt that way about me. And I was trying not to freak out about planning a girls night party for my churches youth here at my house. Uh, then I have a party with your family to be at." I explained and He smiled as I mentioned the last part.
"Oh, so he did invite you." He said smirking and I nodded. Why is he smorking? What does he know that i don't?
