Melody's P.O.V

The car remained silent, tension grew as the only sound being heard was Bruno Mars playing lightly in the background. We haven't spoken to each other since our encounter earlier. I've been dreading this afternoon all day. I don't know how this is going to go. I just hope at least I have his forgiveness at the end off all of this.

My thoughts are cut off by my door being opened by Harry. I guess I was to caught up in my own head to realized we have stopped.

As I get out if the car I take in my surroundings. We're in the middle of nowhere in a dirt patch surrounded by trees. I reluctantly follow Harry into a patch of trees.

I trudged along the soft, damp moss of the forest path. The tree's soft whisper against the wind was like a lullaby, soothing and warm. It was so welcoming and calm. I lifted my face, letting the light and shadow dance across my skin. Bees hummed in and out of the pennyroyal. I inhaled its minty smell and continued on, delighting in the sound of my feet sliding through the leaves.

The outskirt of the forest was surrounded by shrubs and many different plants and greenery. As we walked further into the forest, it became reality that we were alone and surrounded by just nature.
I guess that's why he had chosen to come out her so there were no distractions, just us.

A clearing divided the forest, a wood cabin nested in the center, There was a gentle glowing, coming from the fire through the windows, The air was thick with the grainy aroma of burning wood and spiced with the lingering scent of pine.

The cabin felt as though it hadn't been empty for long. Embers still burned softly on the fire in the hearth that dominated the far side of the single room. To the right of the fire, there was a deep brown beautiful big grand piano. In the left corner closest to the door there was an old armchair with a small tear on the side. Across from
The armchair there was a beaten up old light brown couch On the side of the room opposite the couch, there was a small kitchen witch included a stove, microwave, two-sided sink, a small wooden cabinet and a Long Island that ran across the middle of the kitchen. There was also a small table at the center of the room that appeared to be made for a single person. All of these adornments, though sparse, appeared well cared for and loved. I entered with a sense of trepidation, afraid to disturb anything in the small cabin.

Harry's P.O.V

I watch Melody in awe as she intently takes in the sight of the cabin. An involuntary smile plays on my lips as she turns to face me and a smile immediately tugs at the corner of her lips to match mine. Any anger I had felt toward her was soon evaporated as I took in her beautiful smile, replacing it with this giddily feeling.

Her smile lights the room and fills the darkest dwellings with a beautiful glow that radiates from her.

My smile is immediately replaced by a frown at the remembrance of why we're here. Melody notices my mood change and a frown is set upon her face also.

I clear my throat "You want something to drink?" I offer. "Yes, please,"she replies. I nod and make my way to the small kitchen to retrieve a water for Melody and a beer for me. I walk back over to the open living room to see Melody still awkwardly standing by the door. I laugh lightly at her, making her look in my direction with her eyebrows knitted together confusion written all over her face. I shake my head, handing her the slightly cold water. She thanks me.

"You know you can sit down if you want," I grin at her. She nods and starts toward the small chair. I sit on the couch across from her. Our eyes meet, having an intense stare down before we both spoke at the same time, "I'm sorry," we said in unison Making me chuckle. "You first," I said to Melody. She nods and takes a deep breath before she begins.

"I know what I did was extremely wrong, and I understand if you don't want to forgive me. I-I just, I don't know why I did it. I just really needed the money.." She trails off avoiding eye contact with me.

"What did you need it for?" I ask, interrupting her apology. She doesn't say anything for a few seconds, but the few second felt like hours. "Melody," I press. She meets my eyes again, but looks away a second later focusing on the fringes in her jeans. "I-I needed it uhm for uhm," she stumbles across her words, pausing trying to think of of a lie.

"Don't lie to me," I say firmly. "Train," she says quietly, train? What does she mean? Before I could ask she resumes "I needed it for uh- the train, t-to go visit my m-mom," she trembles at her last few words.

"Why didn't you just ask? Or just told me? I would of taken you" I say, if it was this simple why couldn't she have told me?

"I didn't want to be a burden, I'm
Sorry. The t-train left early th-that's why I left so early. I-I'm so so sorry Harry. I swear I'll pay you back as soon as I can," she says her voice breaking at the end.

I sigh heavily, running my palms over my face as I nod. "It's okay, just don't do it again." I say. "And you don't have to pay me back, I just wish you would of told me." I add.

She nods. "Thank you.. I'm sorry, I really am sorry" she says, looking up at me with watery eyes.

"It's okay, Now stop apologizing," I laugh lightly trying to lighten up the mood. She forces a smile, and nods.

"Uhm Melody can I ask you something?" She nods encouraging me to continue. "I-I was out for a jog one day, a couple months ago a-and," I pause trying to collect my thoughts. "I-I um went down Casper Lane," her eyes widen at the new information I'm giving her. "And um I saw so many ambulances and police cars shooting past me, and I wanted to see what happened. So I followed them, and stopped at the house they stopped at,"
I clear my throat, closing my eyes trying to recall the memory that has not left my head since the day it happened. "I saw..I saw y-you being brought out of that house on the stretcher. You were in such bad condition. There was so much blood, bru-,"

"S-stop," Melody's trembling voice cuts me off. I look over to her to see tears streaming down her face, and her body shaking uncontrollably. "STOP!" She yells her voice booming throughout the small cabin echoing slightly against the empty walls.

Now she's standing with her hands gripping at her hair pulling it tightly. "I-I Melody, I didn't mean to. I-I-" I try and say but I'm cut off again by her "No! St-Stop!" She yells again.

"Melody I'm sorry," I say sincerely.

"No, no, no, no," she repeats over and over shaking her head violently still gripping on her hair.

"Melody, pl-," I stand up slowly walking to her.

Her body was thrashing with sobs, moaning with sadness and pain, tears continually pouring out of her eyes. Her breathing became labored, gulping for air.

Before I could reached her, she turned around and ran toward the door back into the forest. I quickly followed her,
Sprinting in the direction she went in.

I finally caught up to her after five minutes of running. "What the fuck Melody!" I say through my ragged breaths With my hands on my knees bending over trying to catch my breath When she doesn't reply I look over to her to see her sickly pale body lying motionless on the ground.
