"Oh shit! Are you okay?!" I said while running over to Luke along with the other guys.
Luke was holding onto his nose. Oh my god. I hope I didn't break his nose. Please don't be any blood. How the hell did I hit him in the face with the football?!
Luke let go of his nose and checked his hands for any blood. There wasn't any. "Wow, you sure can throw. I really wasn't expecting that," he chuckled.
"Luke, I am so sorry! I hope your nose is okay," I said embarrassed and regretful.
"My nose is fine, don't worry about it, but damn, seriously, you really got a throwing arm there."
"Are you sure you're really okay?" I questioned making sure what I did next would be okay.
"Honestly I'm really fine, if anything, I'm more stunned than injured," he laughed again. That was all I needed to hear.
"I won! I won! I won!" I sang doing a victory dance. Ryder looked upset, but more in a playful kind of way. He could never really be mad at me. I was his favorite person ever. He was one of my best friends. I don't care what anyone else thinks. Yes he is my cousin and is 2 years younger but that doesn't mean he can't be one of my best friends.
"Okay Brynn, calm down now. I hope you realize how hilarious your victory dance is. I'm glad you won because we got to witness that!" Ryder was now laughing hysterically. "You do know that the guys can see how embarrassing you are."
I stopped mid dance and blushed. I am pretty sure if it was day time they could see my whole entire face red. I knew they could see me dancing, but I didn't realize I was embarrassing myself. I was in my own little world. But then I just smiled and shrugged.
I turned around and saw all of the guys trying to hold in their laughter. "Alright alright, laugh all you want, I don't care," I said. After the words came out, I realized that I actually really didn't care. Yeah I did an embarrassing dance because I was happy. Everyone does that. The fact that I did it in front of 4 complete strangers is what made me worried at first. But then I realized that if I can be myself around them then it would build a better friendship.
Wait, did I just think that? A friendship? I wanted a friendship with these good looking guys?
Yes, yes I actually want a friendship with these guys. It wouldn't hurt to make some summer friends. It wouldn't hurt to even make a single friend. It was better than having no friends back home....
I stared off into space thinking about how much my life sucked back home. It was all because of one mistake I made. All because of Him. He was the worst guy ever and I let Him ruin my life.
I snapped out of it when I heard Luke say my name questioningly, "Brynn? Did you hear me?"
"Oh! Uhm...no sorry, I blanked out thinking about something..." I blushed a little embarrassed. "What did you ask me?"
"I asked if you wanted to come inside for some water?" Luke said raising an eyebrow. I swear I saw a little hope in his eyes. Just a tiny little speck. But it was so quick I wasn't sure. It probably wasn't.
"I'm actually really tired. I think I'm just going to call it a night. Thank you though!" I said while walking towards my Aunts front door. "It was nice meeting you all! Maybe I'll see you all again!"
They all said goodbye and I headed inside. My Aunt and the girls were still perched on the sofa. When they saw me, they all started asking me a million questions at once. What did you guys do?! What happened?! Did you talk to Luke?! Does he like you?! Omg do you like him?! When are you going to kiss?! Can we start planning the wedding now?!
