Ethan and Alice were back at the laboratory, staring at a gravestone. Their friend's gravestone. "What do we do now?" Alice asked, looking up after a long time of crying into Ethan's shoulder. "We do what Emma would have done. We change the world. And look bad ass while doing it." Alice lightly chuckled. "Yeah, that sounds exactly like something Emma would say." "Because it is," Ethan replied, pulling out a small note. "Emma told me to look at this after the mission. Look at what it says."
Ethan and Alice,
This is my will. You're the only people I trust with it. Take my laboratory. It's yours now. Start a new life. Have a family. But remember your duty to change the world. And looking bad ass while you do it.
Sincerely,
Me (YES, THIS IS DEFINITELY A DEAR EVAN HANSEN REFERENCE)
P.S. - My 8 year old self is probably still where you left her. Go pick her up and raise her as your own. Seth will be after her soon.
Alice looked up and grinned at Ethan, unholstering one of Emma's inventions. "Well, let's go!" Alice said, kissing Ethan before running off. Ethan grinned.
