Review: This book follows on from the light hearted thriller featured story "In My Attic" with the unexpected Witch, Myrtle's stumbles into crime solving. If you haven't read the previous book, it would not in my opinion make the read any less enjoyable but would no doubt make you want to read the first instalment anyway.

You soon find you are easily transported into Myrtle's familiarity of friends and family, as the author expertly pulls you into the main character's world. Our amateur sleuth feels the clock ticking, as she races against time to solve the crime and stop the onslaught of dead bodies gathering. There is a killer at large. Who is it and why are they doing it? Myrtle will not rest until she finds the answer. It all starts off with pointing the finger at the WI and finishes of closer to home than anyone expected.

This novel has plenty of twists and turns along the way. There 's a good dash of romance and a dastardly relative thrown into the stew. This is a great book and I can't wait to read more about Myrtle. The author has promised a new one soon.

Blurb: Summer solstice is just around the corner and the ancient stone circle of Avebury village is overrun with tourists. Lots of them. When the first start dying, Myrtle Coldron drops her duties as landlady of the Witch's Retreat B&B and embarks on another round of amateur sleuthing.

She has help--Alma and Cecily, the hands-on housekeepers and their trusty hoover, Jenna, Marty and the (not so) terrible twins. Oh, not to forget Petunia, the zombie primula, Tiddles the flatulent cat--or Chris, the rogue witch hunter. And that's not all of them by far. The murderer--could be anybody. As the sun soars towards the longest day of the year, the death toll rises. Using magic might help. But, Myrtle, like her fellow witches, doesn't sport enough paranormal powers to butter her toast. And even the weakest spell comes at a price . . . What readers say: "I adore your style of writing, and the humour within." "Superbly done. Soo impressed to read this. Your writing is like poetry." "Can't wait, good to be back on Myrtle's trail!"
