Chapter 9

Collins' POV:
I woke up hearing Emerald getting sick in the bathroom..
I knocked
"Hey Emmy you okay?"
"Go-go away.."
I walked in and felt her head..
"You're not running a fever, do you feel nauseous?" I asked
"No shit..." she held her stomach.
"Okay.." I got up. "We need to start moving."
I helped her up, bailey walked in rubbing her tired small eyes.
I picked her up then woke everyone up.
"We need to start moving or someone with eventually find us."
"Agreed." Allison nodded while yawning.
"Has anyone seen Venus?" Jac pointed out that Venus wasn't here.
"He told me he would be back." Emerald raised her hand a bit.
"Hey guys, sorry.." Venus walked in.
"Well at least we now found him." Allison chuckled.
We packed a few things and headed out..
We walked for hours we found a highway that had deserted cars and some debris was there.
Bailey held emeralds hand.
There was bodies up a head of us
Venus grabbed Bailey and covered her eyes.
"Hey! Dad!" She laughed, "this isn't hide-and-seek!"
"Dad?" Emerald questioned Venus.
He shrugged.
"Venus says he loves you very much Emmy. Since you're my mommy isn't he my daddy?" Bailey tried to explain
Emerald shrugged at the rest of us.
"Yea.." she smiled, "it does bailey."
Bailey smiled.
"Yay!" She held out her arms to hug Venus.
"Bailey, honey close your eyes." Emerald grabbed her shoulder.
Bailey dug her head in Venus' shoulder to cover her eyes.
We pasted each dead rotting body,
It was revolting.
We saw a car that looked in pretty good shape.
"Jacqueline?" I turned to Jac, "do you know how to hot-wire a car?"
"I can try, but it's been so long."
She started to look at the car and played with some of the wires.
We sat there for a while
Luckily the car had 6 seats.
3 in the front, and 3 in the back.
Jacqueline started the car
"Okay I did it!" She jumped in joy.
"Who knows how to drive?"
"I can." Alison stood up.
"Okay" Emerald but Bailey in the backseat.
Bailey started screaming her lungs out when she found out Emmy wasn't sitting next to her.
"Bailey, it's okay!" Emerald started to get frustrated.
"Emmy!" Bailey held out her arms wanting to be picked up.
The car had no roof so Venus stood up, picked up bailey and sat her in his lap
Emerald, Alison, and Venus where in the front Emerald was in the middle of the two.
This car was a type of convertible but we didn't know what kind
We all buckled up and Alison started to drive us out of this wretched
We drove for hours
The sky finally turned blue
The waters where clear..
It was beautiful..

Jacqueline's POV:
The view of where we where driving where a beauty.
Emerald was teaching bailey what everything was.
Waterfalls, lakes, it was so breath taking.
Finally being away from dark times felt good
I mean we where basically born into this war and can never get out.
The guys where supposed to go out to fight but Collins and Venus. They where young when we all got to America.
Venus found love in Emerald I guess.
Collins is still looking.
But I swear to anyone if they hurt my friends no, if they hurt my family.
They're dead.

Emeralds POV:
This was the life. Sitting with the two people I love getting away from all this.
But something was missing. I don't know what it was.
Echo? No, she wasn't that.
Ever since we started driving.
I've felt this feeling.
It will soon go away
"So Collins!" I yelled
"Yeah Em?"
"Where are we?"
"We are in, Oklahoma."
"Bailey can you say Oklahoma?" Venus looked at bailey.
"O-O-Oklahoma.." she shuddered but managed to say.
I loved these guys. They where my family...
The best thing that has happened to me.
Bailey was like my daughter.
Venus was the love of my life.
Collins was like my older brother.
Jacqueline and Alison where like my sisters.
I felt something in my stomach.
Like a kick, I shook it off as if something just hit me or nudged me, I would have never thought of what it really was...
