"can't come home for dinner tonight, sorry" brendon read the text, his heart dropping a little. this was the 3rd time this week dallon would be missing dinner with brendon.
brendon sent him back an "it's alright" and put his phone to the side. he was cooking dinner for two, but looks like he'd have to find something to do with the other half.
brendon was scared dallon and him were starting to split apart. they never really talked anymore besides when dallon said he wasn't coming to dinner. brendon knew he didn't want to leave dallon, but he was unsure about the other.
he needed to do something to get back to their old selves. he needed to fix their relationship. maybe a vacation would work, to get their minds off whatever is going on. brendon set everything up that night and planned to surprise dallon the next day.
dallon just so happened to get off early the next day. brendon and him decided to go out to a restaurant for the hell of it.
"here this is for you." brendon tells him, handing over an envelope.
dallon cocks an eyebrow at brendon before grabbing the envelope and opening it. he smiles as he reads it, but then it falls to a frown. "i can't leave, babe."
"huh?" brendon asks, feeling his mood already start to sadden.
"i don't have the time. with balancing school and work, i just can't." dallon tells him. brendon doesn't respond, only looking down of his food. it reminds him of the time when dallon told him he was moving away for college. "brendon, look at me."
brendon doesn't. he looks anywhere, but dallon across from him. dallon sighs before he starts talking again. "brendon, i'm sorry. i wish i could, i swear i do."
"no, it's fine." brendon says finally. "i can just give the tickets to spencer or my parents or something."
"are you okay, bren?" dallon asks, grabbing brendon's hand which was resting on the table.
"yea," brendon nods. "i'm fine."
