graduation came before they knew it. it wouldn't be too long now until their relationship would turn long distance. they both wished they could freeze time and savor the moment.

dallon thought about proposing to brendon during graduation, like in boy meets world. he partially chickened out, but also spencer talked him out of it. spencer told dallon he should wait. it was probably just nerves eating at him.

"i really love him, spence, and i want him to know that." dallon says, rubbing a hand over his face.

"i know you do, and he knows it too. why not get him a promise ring or something?" spencer says.

dallon snorts, "a promise ring? what, are we in middle school?"

"hey, i got my girlfriend a promise ring." spencer defensively replies.

"didn't she break up with you?"

"it was a mutual break up."

"bro, you cried for a week or two after."

"not the point!" spencer snaps. "brendon knows you love him, but if you feel like you need to validate it, go ahead. i'm just telling you to hold off on proposing to him. finish college, get a job, live together and then do it."

"god, you lecture me more than my parents. sometimes i feel like i have to start calling you dad."

"and sometimes i feel like you're my irresponsible son."

dallon listened to spencer's words of wisdom and bought brendon and himself promise rings. they were both a silver band that had their initials and the day they started dating engraved into it. brendon couldn't stop smiling and letting out a couple of tears when he opened the box.

spencer, after seeing brendon's reaction, caught dallon's attention across the room and mouthed, "i told you so."

this hit 2k reads holy shit.
