• 1 | How It All Began •

We had no idea what ‘obsession’ meant until we met a big bunch of flowering men who knew how to rock both sexy and derp.

I was the first one to be infected with the ‘K-pop’–disease, which I inflicted upon my two girlfriends. Day by day we got sucked into the addiction only to call ourselves obsessed. We used to make plans to visit South Korea in our future and try our luck there. Gradually life happened, and we grew up. But that obsession didn't seem to fade, like most of us thought it would. Hence, we three had basically always been BTS, EXO and GOT7 stanners.

I still remember falling in love with Taehyung at first sight. Those were my Bangtan days. All day long jamming to Dope, Fire, BS&T and relaxing with Butterfly, Rain. A misheard lyric video by some YouTuber got me watching other MVs as well. It is then that I fell in love with him, my Chanyeol, from EXO. Every single time, without any fail, he was able to make my heart flutter with his Happy Virus-ness. Obviously I stanned Baekhyun, Kai, D.O, Xiumin and everyone else. But he was different. Meanwhile, Sophia had always been a Jimin trash since the BS&T era. Amy had been going around Biases, but her first love was Kris, formerly from EXO.

GOT7, to us, was always a group of men, with cute sexiness everywhere. I had been in love with Jaebum, the hawty Jeibi, since I accidentally clicked on the wrong link and saw the MV of Sign. He had wrecked my Bias-list right there right then.

Growing up and becoming a mature fan, I couldn't say that we were still that much hyped like we were in our teens; but little did we know that the ‘fangirls’ inside us were just sleeping, and not gone.

After college, we kept searching for jobs here and there. Finally after months of scavenger hunting, we were separately settled into our day-jobs. But our night-job never changed from jamming to our favorite songs while gossiping about all kinds of shit from work. Leading a life of difficulties was our forte. So when I resigned from my previous job and got into the worst kind of depression for the things that led me where I was, Sophia and Amy took a big vacation from their respective jobs and decided on making the trip to South Korea happen, just like we had been planning since our teenage.

“Ah, don't sweat it hon, I hate that stupid job anyway.” Amy was more psyched about the trip to Korea than keeping her job.

“Guys, do we have to go now? I am the jobless one. You guys shouldn't risk yours for me. And, seriously Sophie? Maternity leave?” I was the one still pestering them about their ‘leave applications’, of which Amy had submitted none, and Sophie broke all boundaries by requesting a maternity leave!

“Hon, this is for us ALL, not just you. So chill out, and let me have my ‘baby’ in peace. Haha.” Sophia was always the most dramatic one among us. Even at work she managed an awful lie.

“I still can't believe that we're finally doing this...”

I popped the last one of the spare bubble-wrap and trailed off in my own thoughts. My eyes absentmindedly brushed over the pile of clothes and suitcases that were scattered all over the room. After a few moments of solitude, I realized both of them had the same reaction as me. As if on cue, the three of us looked up sharing a daring glint of uncontrollable excitement in our eyes.

After years of waiting, and planning, and organizing, and fund-collecting, we were finally going to make this trip happen! For some reason, it wasn't until that precise moment that this humongous little fact had the chance to sink in deep enough... And once it did, we shrieked like little kids.

For all we knew, this trip had to be the most memorable one for us...
