CHAPTER TEN

The managers came running with the other members to the hospital. I was waiting outside his room with Jongin, as he was the only one from their group who was present in the Hotel when I called for help.

The doctors told us that he had been intaking too much of alcohol. And because he isn't accustomed to heavy drinking, it has badly affected him. Fortunately someone had seen him at the right time. Or else it would've been dangerous for him. But he is okay now. He needs to rest for awhile. As soon as he feels any better he could be discharged.

Everyone was relieved at the news. All of them thanked me for saving him. One by one they went in to see him. The managers went to talk to the doctors. I sat on the waiting room alone.

I had been so scared, seeing him like that. When I took his head in my lap, I could see the pain on his face as he said 'mianhae'. What had happened to the Happy Virus? His eyes were red the first time I saw him. And his pale as white bemused expression that was on his face after pushing me away started haunting my thoughts. Pretty soon I drifted off to sleep.

Someone had cupped my shoulder which woke me up. Baekhyun smiled at me and sat on the next chair. He handed me a hot coffee and bread, and even though I said I wasn't hungry, he insisted that I at least drink the coffee. He was like my coffee-santa.

For a few moments we both shared silence, which was uncommon to my given company. I spoke first.

"How is he? Is he up?"

"He is fine. He is with Suho hyung now. He'll be discharged tomorrow. He needs to rest here, away from everything."

"Oh okay. Thank God."

"I should thank YOU. Who knows what would've happened to him if you hadn't helped him at the right time. You really are an awesome person. Thank you for saving my friend, friend."

His voice was unusually shaky. After all, Chan was his best friend. *BTW did Baekhyun just call me his friend?*

"You don't have to thank me. I did what anybody would've done." And I smiled lightly.

"No, I don't think just anybody would've helped the person who insulted them, twice."

I looked at him, disbelieving. He knew about the other day as well.

"How did you...?"

"Kai told me. Trust me, if I hadn't known him any better, I would've been furious at him. But he has had his fair share of struggles recently. Situations have made our Happy Virus a Disgusting one. I am more than grateful to you for being so thoughtful. And I'm really sorry; really I am, for how he has reacted every time. I guess he got his punishment."

"I never wanted him to get any punishment, Baek. It would've sufficed if he had just understood that there are people around him who are trying to help him, and reach out to them."
