Ellis' POV
A couple hours later, I pulled on my jean shorts and a flowy white shirt. While I was heading out the
door, I grabbed my brown gladiators. When I arrived at the Peters’, I walked right in. I was greeted by
their lab, Ella. I bent down to pet her and saw shoes appear in front of me. I looked up and forced a
smile. “Hi Steele. How are you?” His hands were stuck in the pockets of his dark jeans. His short-
sleeved navy shirt showed off his toned arms. He smiled back. “Doing well since I last saw you. And
you?” I petted Ella one last time and replied. “Same.” His dark eyes grazed over me for a second before
saying, “Good.” He smiled at me but I could tell that his mind was somewhere else. He looked like he
wanted to say something but wasn’t sure how to put it. Right as he opened his mouth, Hill walked in
smiling. He hugged me and then pecked my lips. I smiled at him and noticed that Steele was looking at
his shoes. Oops, PDA. I grabbed Hill’s hand and pulled him into the kitchen. “So, what’s for dinner?” He
smiled at me and grabbed a bowl off of the counter. “It’s a secret. I’m cooking and I don’t want to say it
will turn out one way but it comes out the complete opposite. So… for now, you will just have hang out.”
I rolled my eyes and sat down at the barstool. Steele pulled up the chair next to me and sat down.
When I looked over, he winked. I shook my head and watched Hill sauté chicken. Hill looked up at us
watching him and blushed slightly. “Steele, you should show Ellis the new stuff we got.” Steele looked
confused but noticed I was staring at him so he nodded like he understood. He grabbed my hand and
pulled me out of my chair, making me stumble. “Geez Steele. Slow down.” I followed him into their
finished basement and sat down in a spinning chair. He looked at me and sat down too. He crossed his
arms. “Well, I have no idea what I’m supposed to be showing you. Actually, we got the new Xbox. I
guess we could play Madden. Oh! I know why he wanted us to leave.” He began to set up Madden.
“Wait, why did he want us to leave?” He looked at me and paused. He began to rifle through the DVD’s
looking for the right one. “Um… I think he’s setting up something… for you.” At this, he frowned. He
found what he was looking for and looked at me. I was confused and then excited. “He’s setting up
something for me?” I hopped up and skipped towards him. “And what would that be?” He snorted. “He’s
the good brother. If I knew, don’t you think I would tell you?” I tugged on his arm. “I know you know,
come on.” I stopped tugging and he looked down at my hand on arm. I just realized just how bulging his
bicep was. He looked back up at me and I dropped my hand. “Um, sorry.” I laughed. He smiled but it
looked forced. “Don’t worry about.” He said cheekily. I rolled my eyes. “Anyway… I’m sure you know, so
tell me please.” He shook his head and put in the game. “Nope.” He crashed onto the sofa and handed
