Ellis' POV

We talked a lot about boys, heading down to Linkman’s. Well, actually, Reese talked about boys. I was

content to just listen to her ramble on about how cute Hank Morris was and how close they were

getting. She would also throw in random things about new clothes she got and how much she hated

Lily Alms. I had to agree with her on the last one though. Lily Alms tested my patience. She was the

picture perfect girl with perfect raven black hair, perfect skin and perfect clothes. She dated just about

everybody and liked no one. Reese and I were pretty much the only ones that hated her. I’m pretty sure

she could spit in someone’s face and they’d ask her to do it again. She also has a newfound interest in

Steele. (Shocker!) Just the other day, she made out with him right after they met. Typical.

·      Thursday *

I was walking down the hallway towards my locker when a perfectly manicured hand wrapped around

my arm. I looked towards its owner and tried not to gag. Lily Alms smiled, (more like smirked), at me.

She made a show of wiping off her hand after grabbing my arm. “Hi sweetie. How are you?” I fake

smiled. “Just grand. You know, I heard a poem about you today. It was, ‘Lily, Lily, Lily Alms/Almost a

witch/more like a bitc-“ She put a hand up and interrupted, “Yes thank you for your lovely poetry. Did

you come up with that yourself? Oh wait, who am I kidding? You know what they say about blonds.

Anyway, I didn’t come to you to listen to your childish antics. I came to talk.” I turned away from her and

stuff my books into my locker. “And why would I want to talk to you?” She again clawed my arm and

turned me towards her. “I don’t freaking care what you want. This is about Steele.” I laughed. “Of course

it is. What? Run out of guys already?” She gave a tinkling laugh. “Oh you are too funny. Anyways, you

know him well?” I sighed. “Sure, I know him well. Why do you need to talk to me anyway? You’ll

probably make out with him the second you meet him.” She smiled at me. “You’re right. I probably will.”

Disgusted, I said, “Oh look, here’s your chance. He’s walking down the hall.” She turned so fast, it

looked like she got whiplash. I watched as she walked up to him and introduced herself. He smiled but

it looked forced. He glanced behind her at me and I tensed up. I was still angry with him for trying to

confuse me. His eyes glanced back to Lily and listened to her talk. She stepped closer to him and ran a

finger over his jacket. A boiling sensation came over me and I had to take a long deep breath. She

leaned in to whisper something in his ear and then laughed. He (pretended) to laugh and his eyes

flickered over to me. I could tell he was about to walk away, which I was glad about, until she freaking

grabbed his face and kissed him. Let me tell you, I bet I was just as shocked as he was. I realized I
