Blake sprinted with all his might toward Diane and Roy's home. He even nearly got ran over by a trailer due to not looking both ways before crossing the street.
"Hey! Knock, will ya?" Roy said as soon as Blake barged into his room. He put down his comic book and saw his worried face. "Blake? What's up? You look as if you just ran away from a zombie."
He took in several deep breaths. "I... sort of... did..."
Roy raised his eyebrows at him. "What?"
"Diane's in trouble! It's our substitute teacher! He has XYZ!" the frightened boy yelled.
"What!" Roy yelled. He sighed and turned his back to Blake. "I knew he was a nutjob, but not like this... But why are you here?"
"Wha... What do you mean why I'm here? Diane needs help!"
Roy narrowed his eyes. "She can handle herself, can't she?" Roy said, walking back to his bed.
"But Roy, she's...!"
"I said she can handle it!" he yelled. Roy pushed Blake out of the room. He landed on the ground on his buttocks against the staircase.
"...She's your only sister..." Blake said in a low, worried tone. He stood up and ran back to where he had left Diane and Silver. If Roy wouldn't save them then it fell on him to do so!

[Meanwhile back in the empty park]
Silver froze their substitute teacher's right arm while Diane burned his left. The two were surprisingly working in tandem despite their earlier argument and opposing elements.
The old man slashed off his arms with a butcher's knife and stepped back. "You two have proven quite the adversaries. Sadly you've yet to see my true powers." His eyes glowed an eerie green as the wind around him started to pick up.
The wind was so fierce that Diane's flames died out in an instant. Both of them were sent flying against trees. Silver spat out blood as he tried to create a shield against the wind but the thing crumbled each time.
"Hu...rricane... forced... winds," Diane said, covering her eyes.
The man picked up his arms and reattached them. The burns from the ice and fire were healed. "You fools pushed me into doing so. Now tell me where the black haired boy is."
Silver closed his eyes and focused all of his energy into his hands. The wind hitting his started to rapidly drop into subzero temperatures. He unleashed the energy, sending a concentrate laser at the man.
The substitute dodged but the entire area behind him became a giant glacier. His left arm was nicked and the ice spread throughout his body.
"Nice!" Diane said as the winds died down.
The man slashed off his left arm once more. "I underestimated you..."
Silver crumpled to the floor. 'Damn. Sorry Diane. Seems that I'm out of juice for the time being...'
Diane raised her arms as the man advanced toward Silver. "Where do you think you're going?" she questioned, shooting out scorcing flames from her fists. The man watched the right side of the park caught on fire.
"Fire and Ice. Your elements clashed," the man said, reaching his hand out toward her as she took in a deep breath. He grasped her neck. "Tell me where the boy is."
"No... you'll kill me anyway."
The old man grinned. "Alright. Then I'll make you watch me devour your boyfriend first. Then I'll eat you."
