With Charlie

Raucous laughter filled Charlie's ears as she crawled backwards over the floor, trying to get away from Voldemort. In her blind panic, Charlie didn't notice where she was going until she crawled into someone. Charlie looked up in terror, to see Persephone glaring down at her. Charlie's eyes widened in fear and she started gingerly moving backwards. She didn't see Persephone get out her wand until a bolt of pain hit her. Charlie screamed and more of the Death Eaters' cackles filled her ears. Charlie closed her eyes hopelessly. She'd never felt so alone. The Cruciatus Curse was still roaring through her, making her feel like she was being burned alive, but what was worse was the pain of betrayal.

Later that day

With Tris

Tris drifted closer to Sirius as Persephone swanned past with Bellatrix and a few other of the Death Eater hopefuls. Tris wouldn't admit it, but Persephone scared her. That was horrifying to think because Persephone was her sister. No, Tris reminded herself, Poppy was her sister. Persephone was a cold-hearted Death Eater. That still didn't stop her from flinching when Persephone turned to her and the Marauders.
"I thought there was six of you yesterday," Persephone said, a cruel smile on her lips.
Tris felt Charlie's absence as acutely as she was missing an arm. She'd never tell, but she'd grown to care for Charlie like a sister.
"I saw her, you know," Persephone commented.
Tris's head snapped up and her eyes grew wide.
"She looked so wonderful," Persephone smirked. "I gave her a bit of a makeover as well."
Tris couldn't breathe. She stared at her former best friend in horror. She couldn't believe anyone could be so cruel.
"You're truly your father's daughter, aren't you?" Sirius said, his voice cold.
Persephone's face hardened and, faster than they could blink, her wand was at Sirius' throat. The Marauders and Tris had their wands pointing at Persephone in about five seconds. Students around them stopped, backing up in shock. Peeves the poltergeist swooped over the frozen students, his face a mask of horror.
"STUDENTS FIGHTING!" Peeves bellowed. "STUDENTS FIGHTING IN THE CHARMS CORRIDOR!"
McGonagall came running out of one of the classrooms, her face pale.
"Persephone Riddle," she said quietly.
Those two words seemed to explain everything. With a glare at Persephone, Tris lowered her wand. The Marauders reluctantly did the same.
"Detention!" McGonagall squawked. "All of you! Tonight in my classroom!"
The Marauders smirked. Tris sighed. Persephone raised her eyebrows and hissed something in Parseltongue. A snake curled its way along the floor, then lunged at McGonagall.

With Charlie

"Must be missing your friends, huh?" Scarlett Lestrange smirked, her long nails digging into Charlie's skin.
Charlie couldn't help it. She'd been tortured and beaten for what seemed like ever. The mention of her friends, who she'd left behind, set her off. Tears started falling from her eyes in a torrent of misery.
"Those blood-traitors, Trissa and James and Sirius," Scarlett went in cruelly, "And you know something? Persephone doesn't care. She's glad to see your pain. I suppose you know her as Poppy, though.
Scarlett released her face and Charlie crumpled to the floor.
"Barachabindo," Scarlett whispered.
Chains shot out of her wand and lashed Charlie's wrists and and ankles to the wall.
"I'll see you later," Scarlett smirked, and walked out of the room.

With Tris

Tris was sobbing into Lily's arms. The other Gyriffindors were giving them a wide berth.
"I can't believe how bad she is!" Tris sobbed. "Poppy's dead now, Lily. There's only Persephone."
Lily muttered soothing words and stroked Tris's hair comfortingly, but inside she agreed.

With Persephone

Persephone looked up as Bellatrix sat beside her on the Slytherin common room couch.
"I got news from Scarlett," Bellatrix announced. "She's coming here in three weeks, but guess who's coming with her?"
Persephone looked at Bellatrix questioningly.
"Charlie Fawkes," Bellatrix dropped the bombshell.
Persephone shot to her feet, her eyes sparkling with anger.
"That blood-traitor?" Persephone snapped. "She should be dead!"
Bellatrix nodded sombrely. Persephone let out a yell of frustration and flung herself down on the couch.
"Right," Persephone said, taking a deep breath. "She has to learn that wherever she goes, her life is going to be hell."
