It had been dark for a long time, but there was suddenly a blinding light.  She felt herself moving upwards, towards the light.  She stopped struggling.  She wasn't going to break free on her own. She could feel the rough skin of the shark on her back.  Her eyes were starting to adjust.  She was in the middle of a courtyard, surrounded by a Gru's munchkins, and a dark pink goo that was splattered everywhere.  She looked up and saw El Macho, standing next to a more familiar face.

GRU!!

"Oh, hey, Gru.  Turns out you were right about the whole El Macho thing.  Yay!" She said, as a means of greeting.  She didn't want to let on how truly freaked out she was.  El Macho had turned out to be a far greater force than she had anticipated, especially since, until last night, she thought that he was dead.

Gru just stared at her, taking in the shark and the rocket that she was currently strapped to.

"One push of this button, and I send that rocket into the same volcano where I faked my death!" El Macho declared.  "Only, this time, it's for real."

"No!" Gru shouted.

Just then, one of his adorable munchkins swung in and grabbed the remote, just before he could push the button.  Relief washed over her.  If only she could just get out of these bonds.  She was sure that she and Gru could take down this guy together.

She started to struggle against the ropes again, but they were too strong.  She looked up just in time to see the villain drink a familiar purple liquid.  She watched in horror as El Macho mutated into a hairy purple beast, towering over Gru.

Gru tried to squirt some of that pink stuff at him, but his gun just sputtered.  Instead, he pulled out his freeze ray, and shot him with that.  Then he took off running.  He fell off of the balcony, and grabbed onto a watch tower.  The tower started to fall, with Gru still holding on.  He had just gotten safely to the ground, when El Macho jumped down from the balcony, and grabbed the fallen tower.

She watched in panic as Gru scrambled for something to fight with.  Then, he pulled something small and red out of his jacket.

Her lipstick taser!

Gru uncapped it, and pointed the weapon at his opponent, but El Macho was too fast for him.  He slammed the metal tower into Gru's head before he could fire.

"NO!!!!!!!!!" Lucy screamed.

Gru collapsed to the ground, a scary pool of blood forming around him.  The lipstick taser rolled out of his hand as he went limp.

"NO!!!  NO!!!  GRU, COME BACK!!  NO!!"  She screamed in terror.

Then, El Macho grabbed the fallen remote from off the ground and pushed the button.  She felt a rumble beneath her, and she started to shoot towards the sky, screaming for Gru.

"NO!!!  NO!!  PLEASE!!"

"Lucy!"  She heard.  Suddenly, it was dark out, and she was no longer strapped to a rocket.  She was in bed.  Gru was right next to her, looking very concerned.

She felt tears come to her eyes.  She leaned into him, and started to cry into his chest.  She felt his arms wrap around her.

"You're ok.  You're safe now." He cooed, in a gentle, comforting voice.

"You were dead.  I watched you die, and I couldn't do anything!" She sobbed harder.

He held her tighter, and planted a kiss on her forehead.

She felt her panic lessening.  He was here, a loving and steady constant.

"Please, don't leave." She whispered.

"I'm not going anywhere." He replied.
