Family Fun Pool Time

It was a hot summer day, and Silas had given Gru and Lucy the day off. After spending the morning watching Agnes run through the sprinkler to cool off, Lucy had the idea to go to the neighborhood public pool. All three of the girls were ecstatic. It was the first time that they were going this summer. The girls loved swimming, and Lucy expected that Gru did too, even though he wasn't quite as open about it.

Everyone rushed around, pulling out their bathing suits, looking for towels, and spraying on sunscreen.

Gru came downstairs in his black trunks to find one of the cutest sights he had ever laid his eyes on. Agnes was running around in her little yellow suit. It was a one-piece with little ruffles on it, and it was adorable! Edith was wearing a pink one-piece with light and dark pink stripes. It matched her hat almost perfectly. And that was another thing. Edith wasn't wearing her hat. It was strange to see her without it. But, he realized that she probably wouldn't want to wear it while swimming. Then he noticed Margo. She was wearing a purple one-piece with halter-style straps. They were all so beautiful. He loved his girls. They were all so beautiful and special to him.

"Everybody ready?" Lucy called, as she walked into the room.

His wife's voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked at her. She looked beautiful. She was wearing a turquoise one-piece that had a little skirt on it. Man, he loved that color on her.

"Yeah!" Agnes cheered.

The family piled into the car and drove the short way to the pool. Agnes was practically bouncing out of her seat with excitement.

They arrived, and claimed a table to set their things on. Lucy set down the beach bag with all of the necessities in it. While everyone else was kicking off their flip-flops, she started to put on Agnes's water wings. It took a little bit longer than normal, because Agnes was squirming with anticipation. By the time Lucy got them on her, the two older girls were already in the pool. Lucy set her free, and she excitedly jumped in to join her sisters.

Lucy stood at the edge of the pool, looking at her three daughters. They were so sweet. She loved them so.

Gru walked up next to her. He put his arm around her waist. She leaned into him.

"Aren't they perfect?" She whispered. He smiled and nodded.

"I just can't believe how fortunate I am to have them. To have you." She said to him.

He planted a kiss on her forehead. Then he suddenly picked her up.

"No. No no no no no!" She squealed just as he tossed her into the pool.

She went under for a few seconds right as she hit the water, but popped right up, laughing.

He chuckled and jumped in to join his family.
