Lucy had just finished up in the bathroom. She turned off the light, and walked into the bedroom that she shared with her husband. She flopped down on the bed. It had been a very long day. She had gotten behind on her paperwork at the AVL, and had to catch up on it today. Now, with her hair down, and her silky turquoise pajamas on, she was ready to go to bed.
Gru walked into the room. It had been his night to tuck the girls in. He was in a good mood. Being with his girls always put him in a good mood. That was one of the things the Lucy thought was so cute about him.
He walked into the bathroom.
"Margo has a science fair tomorrow." He called to her. "She would really like it if both of us were there."
"Of course!" She called back, propping herself up. "We'll just need to let Silas know that we're leaving early."
"It's actually in the evening, so I think we'll be fine." He replied, walking back into the bedroom, now in his pajamas, and lying down next to her.
"Did you work with her on it?" Lucy asked, smiling. Gru loved it when the girls had school projects that he knew something about.
He nodded, looking back at her.
She got up and turned off the light. Then, she climbed back in bed, and snuggled up to him.
He wrapped his arm around her and kissed her forehead.
"Well, what did you two make?" She asked, turning to look at him.
"You're just going to have to wait until tomorrow evening." He said, with a teasing smile, turning to look back at her.
She huffed dramatically. He chuckled.
"It's worth it," He said. "Believe me. She's done a great job."
Lucy felt her heart swell with pride. She loved seeing Gru get excited about this.
"You're so cute when you're excited." She whispered to him.
"Not as cute as you." He whispered back. She giggled.
They kissed, pulling apart only when they needed air.
He stared into her emerald eyes. He had never been fond of green, but that all changed when he met her. He didn't think he had ever seen such a beautiful color. Her red hair was sprawled all around her head. Lucy didn't like to have her hair down. She preferred to have it pulled tight into a bun, but he kinda liked it loose. It was wavy and bouncy, just like her.
She looked straight back at him. He was so focused. She loved it when he was like that. He had strength, love, and passion that most people missed when they saw him. He was deep. You had to get to know him before he you could assume those things about him.
She felt something building up in her nose. She tried to hold it in, but she couldn't. It was coming upon her before she could stop it.
"Achooo!" She sneezed.
Gru's eyes widened. He had been so focused that the loud noise shocked him so much that he fell right out of the bed with a yelp.
Lucy gasped, looking over the side of the bed at her husband. She looked down, and saw him sprawled out on the ground. She tried to keep it down, but she couldn't. She laughed out loud.
He looked up at his wife, with her head hanging down over the bed. He glared at her, which just made her laugh more. After awhile, he joined her.
