Warning: The first few chapters might be a little short. Give it some time, they will get longer, I promise.

Perrie's POV:

13 years later

"All done!" The stylist said, stepping back from my chair. I looked in the mirror, and smiled at how amazing my hair had turned out.

"Thank you very much," I said. I touched the newly colored pink strands of hair and grinned.

"No problem, now let's go up to the counter," the stylist said.

I followed her up to the counter, and faced the stylist. "That dyeing will be $60.00." The stylist said. I fished my credit card out of my wallet, and gave it to the her. "Thank you, have a good day!" She called as I walked out of the salon.

As I walked to my car I fished out my phone and sent a text off to Jade, telling her I was on my way home.

I can't wait to show Jade my hair. I wonder how she will react.

As I drove home, I thought through the day I planned for the two of us. Jade had been distant for a couple weeks, and I knew something was up. I could only hope what I had in store would cheer her up and maybe help her open up to me. All I wanted was to see her genuine, beautiful smile again.

"Jaaaaade," I sang as I opened the door to the dorm that Jade and I shared. I froze in the doorway, taking in the room.

"Jade?" I said meekly as I stepped inside. Jade's side of the room had been stripped bare. Posters, photos, and all personal belongings were gone. I stood stock still, eyes wide with shock.

"What the hell happened?" I asked, my words dissolving in the silent air. I felt my throat start to close up and I turned away, blinking back tears.

I needed to talk to my mom. I dialed her number and put it to my ear, silently begging her to pick up as it rang.

She picked up on the third ring. "Hello?" She said. "What's up, love?"

"Mom," I said, my voice cracking, "where is Jade? I've been out all morning, and when I came home she was completely gone. Everything's gone."

"Oh honey, they left about an hour ago. They're moving to New York. Didn't you know?" My mom asked.

I sank down onto the chair, my legs suddenly feeling very weak as the world tilted. Jade was gone. She left with no notice. Why didn't she tell me?

"Perrie?" My mom said hesitantly, my silence beginning to worry her. "Are you okay?"

I let out a shuddering breath. "Of course," I said softly, fighting to keep my voice steady. "I'll see you next weekend."

"But-"

I hung up before she could say another word, tossing my phone onto my bed. I brought my knees up and hugged them to my chest as my tears began to spill over.

"Why, Jade?" I cried, looking up at the ceiling as if she could somehow hear me. "Why did you do this, how could you do this?"

A whimper escaped my throat as I dropped my head onto my knees. In that moment I had never felt more alone. Abandoned.

After a minute, I lifted my head and found the picture on my bedside table through my watery gaze. Jade and I were nine years old in that picture, and it was us standing hand in hand, with our flower crowns on our heads. It was the day we vowed to be there for each other, through rain and shine, thick and thin.

"You promise to be by my side forever, and I could always count on you Jade," I whispered, my voice breaking. "You promised."

So that is chapter one! Hope you guys enjoyed it! See you lovelies later!
