Perrie's POV:

I knocked on Jade's door of her apartment for the third time. I sighed, and checked my watch. It was 7:00 on the dot, and Jade wasn't answering. I had no way of knowing if she was home of not. I knocked a couple more times, and called her name quietly.

At 7:15, I left, feeling defeated. Jade had shown me up. That was the only explanation. I thought she actually cared about me. I guess not. As I drove home, I thought about all of the memories that Jade and I had together.

When I got home, I shut the door, and tears started falling silently down my face. I looked at Jade's contact on my phone, and cried harder. I shut my phone off, and threw myself down in a chair in my living room."Why?" I whispered.

Jade's POV:

I shook myself awake from my sleep. I looked over at my clock. 8:30! I completely missed Perrie! Feeling horrible, I called her. No answer. I texted her.

To Perrie❤️❤️: I am so sorry Pez. I fell asleep, and must have not heard you knock. Please forgive me.

No answer.

To Perrie❤️❤️: Please answer me Perrie. I am really sorry.

Nothing. I groaned, and threw my phone down on my bed. I got up, and paced. I needed a way for Perrie to forgive me, I couldn't lose her again. Not when I was this close to getting her back. I suddenly had an idea.

The next morning...

Perrie's POV:

I slowly walked in the front doors of Techrider Incorporated. I had been spammed by texts from Jade all night. I ignored all of them. "Good morning Perrie," I heard Leigh-Anne say, as she walked up to me. "Good morning," I said, walking away from her. "Wait," Leigh-Anne called. "Not now," I said, picking up my pace, and taking the stairs instead.

I barged into my office, and stopped short. There was a box of my favorite candy, and a beautiful flower vase filled with my favorite flowers on my desk. A note lay in front of both. I walked over, and picked it up.

Dear Perrie,

I'm really sorry that I blew off last night. I fell asleep, and I probably didn't hear you knock. I really am sorry. How about a make-up? I'll take you anywhere, just give me another chance. I can't lose you again, Perrie.

I hope you like the gifts I got you. I know they're your favorites.

-Jade

I walked into Jade's office without hesitation, and found her standing at her window, watching the traffic below. I snuck up behind her, and slid my arms around her waist. Jade jumped, and turned around. "Thank you Jade, I forgive you," I whispered.

Jade smiled, and pulled me closer, and buried her face in my shoulder. "I thought I would lose you again," she said, her voice muffled. "Are we friends again?" Jade asked, pulling away slightly. "Absolutely," I said, smiling.

"I still owe you," Jade said. "Well, you said you would take me anywhere," I smirked, pulling away from the hug. "Oh yeah? Where would you want to go?" Jade challenged. "How about Berutelli's?" I asked. "Okay, sure, I'll pick you up at 5:30," Jade smiled.

I leaned in, and whispered in her ear, "it's a date." I pulled away, and walked back into my office.

Skip the work day

As I entered my house, my phone pinged. It was a text from Jade.

Jade💗: I just realized I don't know where you live. Can you text me your address?

I laughed.

To Jade💗: Sure, it's 26 Liberty Way.

I put my phone down, and ran into my bedroom. I flung open my closet doors, and started to dig for the perfect dress for tonight. I found several dresses, and realized within seconds of trying them on, that they were from my high-school years, and thus too small.

I finally found the perfect dress. It was a midnight blue cocktail dress, with a satin ribbon to tie at the waist. I dug out a pair of silver heels, and were delighted to find that they still fit. I brushed my hair, and left it wavy. I applied some makeup, and was pleased with my appearance. I did a twirl in my full length mirror to be sure.

I heard the doorbell ring. "Just a moment!" I called. I took a deep breath, and went to open the door.

That's chapter 7! I hope you enjoyed it!
