Falling Again

Chapter 2

Perrie's POV:

2 years later...

"What do you mean, she quit?!" I slammed my hands down on my desk, making Leigh-Anne jump. "Sorry m'am, but her exact words were, 'I quit, this place is horrible! I can't work here, with the boss being such a-'" 

"I don't need to hear anymore out of you Pinnock, understand?" I snapped. "Yes m'am," Leigh-Anne said. "Now hire someone as soon as possible, we're closer than ever to Techrider Incorporated being shut down, got that?" I turned away from Leigh-Anne, and paced the room. 

"We need someone who has experience with technology, and is obedient. They need to be patient, and smart, and know when to keep their mouth shut. This person will be my new assistant." Leigh-Anne gasped. "But Miss Edwards, you've never had an assistant bef-"

"Well I will have one now, go find someone. Now," I said, my voice steely. "Yes Miss Edwards," Leigh-Anne said, bowing, and quickly exiting. I rolled my eyes. Leigh-Anne could be so annoying at times, but she worked hard, and did what was asked of her, eventually, and she did it well. 

Leigh-Anne's POV:

"Jesy!" I called. Jesy came running over. "Yes? What is it?" She asked. "Miss Edwards wants an assistant hired, and she told me the expectations." I explained. I told her what they were, then Jesy and I began to search. 

"I think I found one!" I exclaimed. "Let me see!" Jesy said, running over again. I showed her the profile. "Her name's Jade Thirlwall. She is good with technology, and is willing to do anything asked of her." I said. "Sounds great!" Jesy said.

"I'll call her, you go up and notify Miss Edwards that we've found someone, and that she'll start tomorrow." I said. Jesy nodded, and ran off, dodging interns as she went. I looked up her number, and dialed.

Jade's POV:

"Hello?" I said, picking up the phone. "Hello, this is Leigh-Anne Pinnock, from Techrider Incorporated. Is this Jade Amelia Thirlwall?" The person on the other end of the line asked. "Yes it is," I answered, excitement swirling in my stomach.

"We have seen your profile. There is an opening for the position of assistant to our boss, Miss Edwards. Will you take up our offer?" Leigh-Anne asked. Miss Edwards? It couldn't be...

"Absolutely," I said. "Good. You start tomorrow," Leigh-Anne said, and hung up. I couldn't believe it. I called my mom to tell her the good news.

Perrie's POV:

The next morning...

"Miss Edwards? Would you come down to the front desk? Your new assistant is here," Dinah's voice echoed through the loudspeaker, disturbing the peace and quiet of my office. "Fine, I'll be down in a minute," I snapped.

I straightened my tie, and opened the door. Office workers cleared the way for me as I marched down the hall to the elevators, my black heels clicking as I went. I pressed the "1" button, and got in the elevator. 

The elevator dinged, and I was off again, towards the front desk. When I arrived, I saw the back of a young lady. She had lovely ombré hair, and as she turned around, I fought to keep a professional poker face. I succeeded, but my new assistant standing before me, was...

Jade...
