Bullets cut through the trees around you and splinters of wood cut through your skin. Your lungs were on fire and your legs were numb. The loud blast of guns, like firecrackers in your ears, was almost deafening - a constant reminder that you couldn't stop running, not until you were out of the firing range.

You noticed a fracture in the otherwise smooth forest ground, big enough to provide cover for you and Clint to retaliate. You pointed to it and he nodded. The two of you changed your direction towards it.

You were almost there, it was so close. You willed your muscles in preparation to dive into the fracture, until you spotted a glint of silver behind the trees ahead. It was too late to duck out, too late to react.

Clint noticed the rifle too and yelled, "I'm sorry!"

"Hoe, don't do it!" you shouted, knowing what he was going to do. Clint pushed you out of the way, taking your place, and the bullet that was meant for you. "Oh my god!"
