Ch. 16 Lisa's arrival

"Who's this, Michael?" the woman asked.
"YN, my cousin."
"Who's she?" I asked.
"Lisa, my ex wife."

I kept looking at his ex wife and she kept looking at me. We were throwing sharp knives at each other. First time I saw her and I knew I didn't like her.

She was thin, small, but had a heavy voice and looked like a real bitch. She wasn't even that beautiful... what did Michael like about her in the first place? And why the hell was she here?

I guessed Michael noticed the awkwardness or daggers between us two, so he sighed and begun

"Lisa appeared out of nowhere, YN... I don't even know how she found out where I'm staying, 'cause no one knows... I'm sorry you had to hear us fighting. She's gonna leave now!" he looked at her with eyes full of anger.
"I'll leave, but only with my husband!" she stated.
"I am not your husband!" Michael slightly raised his voice at her and shook his head.
"Not on paper, but you know it damn well that we're still married!"
"I still loved you when we got divorced, but now my love for you is over. It melted like ice! Now I want you to leave!"
"I ain't letting you here, Michael! And who the heck is this girl!!?? I never heard you having cousins like her! I came all the way from LA..."
"You shouldn't have, Lisa... you shouldn't. I suggest you leave now and go fuck that lover of yours in our bedroom in LA just like I saw before I filed for divorce!"
"That was a mistake and you know it!"
"Cheating is not a mistake, Lisa, it's a choice. CHOICE!"
"And so is forgiveness!"
"I forgave you  but I don't want you... Now leave."
"No."
"Leave, Lisa!" Michael insisted.
"NO! NO! NO!"
"This is not my house, woman! This is YN's house and she doesn't want you here and you know what... even if it was my house I'd still throw you out of it! Now, YN, tell her to leave your house, so we can get over with this."
"A girl ain't gonna tell me what to do, Michael! And-"

They begun their conversation again and I looked out the window. It was getting darker and the moon was soon to appear in the sky.

The beast was going to wake up soon.

I looked at them fighting, then I looked at Lisa with jealousy, because she knows Michael in a way that I never will. Then suddenly... if she were to leave right now! The moon, the werewolf! I couldn't let her do that! She had to remain in the house until the morning. The werewolf could kill her because she had to drive through the forest to leave our town! She could end up just like Chad who was returning home through the forest!! Oh no.. this woman had to remain here for the night.

"She stays." I interrupted their 'talk' and they both looked at me.
"What did you say?" Michael asked.
"She'll spend the night here."
"YN! Are you crazy?!! I don't want her!" an evil smile spread across her face.
"It's almost night. It's dangerous to drive when it's dark." I said.
"See, Michael. Your cousin is very smart!"
"Whatever... I'll sleep in your parents' room, YN. She can sleep on the couch." Michael said, then grabbed his blanket, pajamas and pillow and scurried upstairs. His body language was screaming he was upset because of Lisa. I didn't like her either, but sending her home would mean sending her to the graveyard.

After what seemed like 20 minutes, things had calmed down a little and I decided to go to my room. Michael was angry and had locked himself up in my parents' room, Lisa was just standing in the living room, so there was nothing left for me to do.

I made sure to lock the doors first... then close the windows and secure the house as much as I could. However, I wondered if the werewolf ever decided to enter someone's home, would locks, windows and other security stuff be able to hold it?

I went upstairs, leaving Lisa on the sofa and stopped in front of my parents' room. I knew it was rude, but I approached the door and listened. Daniel's words about Michael being the werewolf played in my mind all over again. From the other side of the door came nothing else but silence. He must have gone to bed.

Daniel hated Michael so therefore I believed that he said that on purpose! Michael couldn't be the werewolf! I was living with him after all!

I went inside of my room and got ready for bed. I was extremely scared to go to bed and sleep, knowing that a beast is running free. I remembered the stories that Derek told us today and they sent shivers down my spine again.

I left my bathroom and as I was going to the bed, I noticed Jeremy's house. The lights were still on and he was going around his room. I took my binnacles and looked closely.

It appeared he was preparing for bed, just like he said earlier. Soon, he switched off the lights, laid in the bed and turned off his night lamp too. He went to bed.

No, he couldn't be the werewolf. No way! He was so sweet and caring, he went to bed before the moon was about to shine! If he was the werewolf, he'd be waking up right now and preparing to transform!

Ring Ring

My cell phone rang. I grabbed it and pressed the green button. It was Daniel.

"Hey."
"Hi." he said. "How are you?"
"Scared, nervous..." I told him the truth "And you?" he sighed.
"Same." after a short pause he said "It's about to begin soon. Did you lock yourself up?"
"Yes. By the way, Jeremy's not the werewolf. He just went to bed. I saw him from my window."
"Good. Then we have the priest and Michael left."
"Michael can't be the werewolf. It must be that priest!"
"Stop excluding, Michael! You don't know him, YN!"
"And you don't like him, that's why you think he's the werewolf!"
"Maybe I have a reason for not liking him! You ever though about that?"
"Listen, Daniel, I wanna go to bed now. I feel exhausted..."
"And you sound weird, everything okay?"
"Well..." I sighed "when I returned home, Michael's ex wife was here and they were fighting... she cheated on him, so I feel sorry for him, you know..."
"Ex wife... is she also from LA?"
"Yes.."
"Did she leave?"
"No, I let her stay for the night... you know why. She has to go through the woods to leave the town and now's not the right moment."
"YN, you shouldn't have left her stay!" Daniel's voice suddenly changed "Don't you get it!!?? She's from somewhere else and suddenly appears at the same time the werewolf appears! You shouldn't have done that, YN! What if she's the one we're looking for??"

Her heavy voice, bitchy talk and manners, strong body language, aura of being possessive and arrogant, appears shortly after the werewolf... well, she was a woman, but who said the werewolf wasn't a woman?

What if Lisa was the werewolf??? What if she came here to revenge Michael for leaving her?? And how did she know about Michael being here? Maybe she traced him using her... her sharp werewolf nose??!!!

Did I just invite the werewolf into my home?

"YN!?? YNNN!? Are you there?"

My body paralyzed in fear.
