"Your have a very beautiful wife, Michael, I congratulate you!" Jeremy smirked.
WHAT??
Me and Michael looked at each other.
"No, no we're not... m-married." Michael said with a very weird tone in his voice.
"No we're not, you got it all wrong!" I jumped in "We're cousins and he just lives here, no marriage thing no..." I said as if I was trying to justify my own self for having feelings towards Michael, that I shouldn't have.
"Yeah we're cousins and stuff..." Michael added.Jeremy looked at us from tip to toe and I got the feeling he was thinking 'Yeah right...'. He looked like he didn't believe us at all!
"Oh cousins you say... well my bad, because you guys look like you have some kind of connection... a very special connection." he whispered the last words, making the situation appear weirder than it actually was "Now, I have to go. See you around!" he gave us a weird smile and left.
Me and Michael were petrified. We didn't say anything, we just stood there and when we realized what we were doing was pretty awkward, he said
"Get inside." I obeyed and right after me he got inside too and closed the door behind.
Dear Lord, why did I got the feeling from the tone in Michael's voice, that he actually was sorry for not being... my husband?
What this man Jeremy said was really disturbing. Me and my own cousin married.
Why did I like it?
I looked at Michael who was with his back facing me and leaning on his left hand against the wall. What was wrong with him?
"M-Michael are you alright?" I decided to be polite and ask him, but he didn't reply. "Michael..." I walked over to him but still no reaction. "Is there something wrong?" I gently placed my hand on his firm shoulder and he immediately jerked my hand away with force.
"Don't touch me." he commanded with a harsh voice. His chest was heaving up and down in a very fast pace. He was panting and I noticed sweat on his forehead. "Go to your room and leave me alone..." he said this time with a more gentle voice, but still not the voice I was used at listening to.I decided not to question him further because honestly... I got a little scared - the way his mood changed in a blink of an eye, this harsh tone and angry voice, the way he jerked my hand off his shoulder with strength... And why the hell did he do all that? I couldn't understand it.
I left him alone and got upstairs which I had to do anyway since I needed to get ready for school.
At school, I met Jess and got the impression she wanted to tell me something, but since I arrived late at school, we had to wait for the class to be over first.
After the bell rung, she grabbed my hand and led me out of the room into the long corridor and we talked as we were headed for the next lesson.
"Jess, you looked worried, what's wrong?" I begun.
"Haven't you heard yet, YN?"
"Hear what?"
"About Daniel!" she whispered.
"What about him?"
"He's come up with that crazy plan!"
"Wait is he at school?" I asked.
"Yes, he came to school although we all thought he was going to rest at least a week at home..."
"Yeah.. and he mother just let him come? He was in a schock?"
"Forget about that! He's been telling his friends that he wants to go to the forest to seek whatever killed Chad..."
"What? Is he insane? This is crazy!"
"He's gathering people with him, volunteers!"
"Oh my God..."
