Ch. 33 New suspect

We stood there frozen in silence.

What we saw few minutes ago was shocking and disturbing. My best friend was fucking her own cousin... The girl whom I was supposed to know so well as if she was my own sister. Mistake. Big mistake. I didn't know her and I'd never known her. 

And as for Michael... I knew there was something strange about him. He was just too handsome, too smart, too perfect... it was almost unreal. Now I realized that it was a sick and perverted mind that stood behind his perfection. 

But YN... how could she do that? Her cousin? A man from her family?! Did her parents know?

I looked at Dereck. His face was worried and buried in thoughts. Daniel was looking at the ground and his eyes glistened from the wetness inside them. Wow, I had never before seen him cry. I even thought he was unable to cry or feel love or warmth! I guess I was wrong.

I was wrong about many things and about the people around me. All of them. Life was fucked up. You think you know shit and you wake up one day, and realize that you know nothing about your friends or family. 

What were we going to do now? How was I going to look into YN's eyes or Michael's? Maybe I should let her parents know... but if YN and Michael were to find out that we knew, they were going to do anything to prevent us from talking!

Anything.

Just like YN did anything to prevent us from going to prison when we found the priest's corpse in Dereck's basement. 

Oh Lord... could she do it? Could she actually bury her secret with us? And Michael would help her. He was strong, smart and fast, and if they worked together as a team against us, no one would ever know that they did something to us! We would just disappear and the police won't even find our bodies! They were going to do it even better then the werewolf and-

wait a minute...

Suddenly, something came to my mind and made me shiver in fear. My heart stopped beating and for a second I detached myself from everything. 

"I know who the werewolf is." I spoke and broke the deep silence in the room. Dereck and Daniel looked at me with confused eyes.
"What did you say?" Dereck spoke and it sounded as if he wasn't sure he heard me right, because what I said was crazy. 
"I know who the werewolf is." I repeated. 

YN's POV

Me and Michael were sitting on the sofa comfortably in each others arms and watching a movie together, and enjoying just being alone.

Being in his arms felt so good, it almost made me melt. I could forget about all my problems as long as I was with him! Nothing else mattered. 

I looked at his perfect face which was being lightened by the TV. He seemed to be buried in thoughts and so far away from the movie. 

I placed my hand on his cheek to gently caress it, which caused him to look at me with a warm smile on his face.

"Is everything okay, baby? You seem concerned..." I asked him.
"I am..." his eyes got sad "I was thinking about us and our future." I sighed, because I knew how complicated things will be for us. 
"What are we going to do? We can never be together..."
"I've been thinking about it, YN and I think you should go to university away from home. I'll move to the same city where you are and where no one knows us! Away from family and friends! We're gonna be able to be together without worrying that someone might see us doing stuff... but..."
"What?"
"I can't ask you to leave your friends and family."
"Yes, you can! You'll leave yours too! As a matter of fact, you already have."
"But-"
"There comes a time in every girl's or boys' life when they leave their family and begin a life of their own. I want my own life to begin with you... I'll never be happy here without you, Michael." he smiled and revealed his pearl white teeth.
"I'm so happy to hear that, princess! I was so scared that you won't agree..."
"I love you so much and I want to be with you forever. I know that we'll never have things like marriage or children, because we are siblings, but at least we'll be together."
"You're right." he caressed my hair "I'm sorry I can't give you everything, YN... I'm sorry I'm your sibling."
"I wish you weren't my sibling... what bad luck we have."
"Indeed."
"What are we going to do when my parents return?" I asked.
"We'll pretend we don't love each other like we're going to do in front of everybody else." I nodded.
"Yeah.. if someone was to find out, they would never understand us and you might go to jail.. I don't even wanna think about that!" 
"Then don't, because it's not going to happen! We're not gonna let that happen."

Jessica's POV

"What do you mean, Jessica?" Dereck said "What are you talking about?!"
"It's Michael."
"What?"
"The werewolf is Michael! It's so obvious! How could I have not seen it earlier! It's been him all along... everything matches."
"What matches?" Daniel asked "What have you not seen?"
"Explain to us, Jessica! Because I really don't understand!" Dereck said.
"Don't you get it... he's just too smart, too handsome, too strong, too seducing... Daniel, remember what he did to you and your boys that night!?"
"Yeah.. he was very strong."
"Exactly! And I've been around him, because of YN... he's good at everything! And you know what we did that night before we all went into the forest to prove the werewolf existed? We gave Michael sleeping pills."
"You what?"
"So that he won't notice YN was out! We gave him a big dose and then in the very early morning, he came to pick us up! How did he wake up? With the pills we gave him he should've slept for at least 12 hours... You can't sedate a beast, Daniel... you just can't."
"Dear Lord..." Dereck whispered. 
"And everything started after Michael's arrival!" I added "And then YN... she was quite skilled at hiding the priest's body, she must have learned it from Michael. They must have been together in this from the very beginning!"
"Jesus Christ.." Daniel said.
"YN never got hurt! Not even a single scratch, because she's Michael's lover and he keeps her safe!! How didn't I notice that earlier..."
"That's very logical." Dereck said "I think you might be right, Jessica!"
"I am. It's Michael. The person we've been looking for is Michael and YN is involved with him."
"I can't believe it..." Daniel begun "He's right under our noses.. all this time! And YN too! All this time.."
"The beast is the person you least expect..." Dereck said. 
"But we've known YN from a child!" Daniel said "Maybe he's forcing her into it!"
"No, Daniel... that Michael is very smart. Way smarter than we thought and your friend needs help."
"What do you mean? She's our enemy!" I said with pain in my chest.
"Maybe not... Michael must have seduced her and made her fall in love with him on purpose, so that he would have someone to help and cover for him! Maybe we can still save YN..."
"But how!?" Daniel said.
"I don't know... we need a new plan, now that we know the truth, but just to be sure, we need to check on Michael first."
