no one had commented on her makeup, yet, which was great.

okay...
maybe not commented, but definitely given her a few weird looks here and there... some giggling... whispering... but it was all fine.
as long as she didn't have any face to face conversations about it to anyone, it was okay. she could deal with it.

for example trying to explain to someone what gender fluid was. that was hard.

please teach kids this at school, because oh my god, was it awkward.

but now it was lunch, and time was ticking as tyler speed walks over to her usual corner where she sat alone daily, but not including yesterday.

it was okay, now, though. firstly, she was used to it, and second, she had her art book back.

and she knew what she was going to draw.

her mind was buzzing with thoughts... now she'd looked at joshua a lot more closely she could not help but notice what she'd been drawing wrong this whole time.

firstly, josh's eyes were a lot darker than what they thought before.

and, his eyelashes were longer.

also, his hair didn't always flop over his face, showing his pale forehead and well styled eyebrows.

she sighs. oh, how much she loved joshua.

how long had she had this crush?
she stops to think.
about six months, safe to say. yeah, about eight months joshua had been in school... it took tyler a while to even pay attention to him as she assumed he was one of the popular kids.

he wasn't.

he was too good for them.
and too anxious.

so, yeah: the drawing.

this one was going to be just joshua with his head titled to the side, smiling with his teeth and eyes closed.

oh my god, and a pink flower in his blue hair.

she just loved josh's smile so much. even his perfect teeth.

"tyler!" a voice tells, making tyler jump and slip her pencil across the paper sharply leaving a mark that wouldn't be rubbed off lightly.

it was brendon, walking up to her with a smile on his face, with joshua at his side looking down nervously.

"th-that is your name, r-right?" he looks down at her as she was sitting against the wall, staring up at him.

"y-yeah." she replies.

tyler was her name and she liked that.
no, it wasn't a 'boys name'.
it was her name.

if your friend steve says that she's a trans girl, and her name is steve, steve is now a girls name. congratulations!

brendon nods understandably.

"cool. um... what are you doing, there?" he says, the brunet looking over at josh who was forcefully smiling.

"drawing." is all she says.

"oh. uh, well joshie here was asking if you l-like to... uh... go out later."

josh looks up at him, his eyes wide, before signing something. the blue haired looked like he didn't know what his friend was talking about.
but brendon just chuckles.

"to the beach."

she couldn't tell if he made it up or not, but joshua's cheeks were now a bright red color.

"i... u-um... okay. y-yeah?" she tries to say something but she can't focus. she was going to the beach with joshua dun. it had been a dream of hers for a while now.

was this real?

"cool. mind if we sit down?"

"not at all..."
