The wolf David's POV
I stare at a pair of brown eyes and they're staring back at me stubbornly. I won't loose. I'll win this stare contest. You might wonder what the price is since I'm so determined to win and you'll maybe surprised to hear that it's just honour. But let me tell you something, it's not just, honour. It's everything that comes with it, power, respect and HONOUR!! Can't you understand how important it is? No? Well then I won't waist my time on you.
Her fur is blond like all golden retrievers and she's got a kind face but she's special. She's brave and not just stupid brave like most dogs, she's wisely brave like most females are actually. Her eyes stare into mine with a deep wonder, I know she knows creatures like me exists but I think she hoped she'd never meet one. Despite that she won't bend down, she'll keep on challenging me until she wins. It's just a pity that I'll do the exact same because we'll just be walking in circles. Maybe it would be better if we worked together, we could be a great team. I try to imagine how powerful we could be, we could hunt and scare animals, we could even have a shared territory though I guess she wouldn't be too keen on that last part since the reason she's pissed at me now is that I've invaded her territory. But maybe she'll come around, she'll realise that I'm strong and could help, she'll realise that I'm not a monster but actually helpful and useful in her case. I look into her eyes deeper and I think she understands, she whimpers a little before walking out of the room proudly. We've come to an agreement. She reappears in the doorway with a wire between her teeth. I can tell how carefully she drags the object behind her by how slow and gentle she is. She places the object in front of me, I sniff it and I immediately recognise the sent as bread. It's a toaster!! She starts barking at it and I wonder what I'm supposed to do but then I feel it coming naturally. I growl and haul at it while she barks. This is a friendship being born.
