David's POV
"Where are we going?" Emily stops but she doesn't let go of my hand. I look around and realise we're entering the woods. I was so busy with trying to say things that sounded thought through and to do basically everything right. I don't know how well I did but my guess is okay since Emily's still here and she continues to smile. Anyway I was so busy I didn't notice we were wandering towards the woods.
"Shortcut to Kyle" I shrug as if it's the most normal thing to walk here.
"So that's why you're covered in dirt and blood?" Em laughs and I let go of her hand but turns towards me.
"Sorry for the hand sweat" I mumble embarrassed and wipe my hands on my jeans.
"Nah, don't worry about it" she looks at me with a curious smile.
"Oh" I realise why "you wanna know why I'm covered in blood and dirt" of course.
"Yeah, the whole poison thing seems a little unrealistic don't you think?" She looks at me and I'm suddenly hit by her stunning looks. I know I've said this before but when you really look at Emily she's super beautiful. The corners of her cute red mouth are hinting a shy smile and so are her glittering eyes. They are not brown as I first thought but a deep dark shade of green with streaks of yellow.
"It does" I admit "but I'm not lying" I try to speak in a way that will tell her how honest I am.
"Okay" she sighs as if she doesn't trust me fully but doesn't really have the energy to argue about it.
"Shit!" I let out the word more angrily than intended.
"What?" Emily looks at me worriedly. I run my fingers through my hair and tilt my head backwards in frustration. "What's wrong?"
"I forgot I promised to meet up with my mum at 4 that's all" (I know I told you we do this everyday but lately it's only somedays which makes it even worse if I forget it). Emily checks her phone and smiles awkwardly at me when we realise it's just 15 minutes left.
"Well, you've got about 30 minutes back into town" she looks at me questioning. What am I gonna do? I could easily make it there in 15 minutes if I ran but I can't do that with Em.
"Yeah" I mumble, crap.
"See you at Kyle's later?"
"What?" I ask surprised, I expected her to want to walk back with me, maybe she doesn't even like me that much.
"See you at Kyle's later?" She repeats though I heard her perfectly. "I figured you wanted to see her alone, or-?"
"Yeah I really gotta talk to her. I'm so sorry" without really thinking I hastily kiss her gently in her cheek and she smiles.
"Don't worry so much David, I'll see you later" she smiles assuringly and waves happily as she walks into the woods towards Kyle's house.
"You sure you know the way?" I can't help but worry. I just do that naturally.
"I'll find it, Sweden is like 70% woods or something" she laughs and walks away. God that felt weird. And seriously I feel like she might get lost but I also feel like I have no other choice than to run.
***
Out of breath and with sweat running down my back I enter the salon. I look around slightly lost though I've been here more than a million times.
"Hey Kiddo" I hear from behind, I turn around and force a smile to appear on my wet face. God I must look like shit.
"Ted, man hello" I feel the man's eyes on my torso or should I say I feel the man's eyes in the dirt on my shirt covering my torso? Yeah whatever I must look like a madman.
"What on earth have you been doing?" At first I can't locate the voice but then a small boy shows himself, he's been standing behind Ted, probably shy. Though the kid has his fingers in his mouth as if he has no clue what to do with them he talks with a steady voice "you look like you've been living with pigs" he laughs at his own joke as if it was the most badass insult ever, it wasn't. I can tell you that much. But I guess if you're like seven years old it could be. And back at it with the not making sense. God I feel like I'm stumbling around in a darkness of words, #deep.
"I just walked through the woods and tripped so that's how I got blood everywhere" I find myself lying too easily and immediately itch my back in a nervous guilty sigh. "But I'm fine" I hastily add when I see Ted's worried look. He's big and muscular though he's getting old now and he's got kind brown dear eyes.
I turn around when I catch her sent, I would have caught it earlier if there hadn't been so many smells from beauty products in here but now there is so... moving on, she walks up to us and says hello politely before explaining to Ted and the boy that they unfortunately have to leave because the salon is closing now. The boy stares at me with a kind of doubt that tells me he knows that there's more to the story I told him, he's absolutely right so I can't blame him and therefore I quickly say goodbye and leave to get cleaning supplies. Unfortunately it takes longer for Ted and the suspicious boy to leave than it takes for me to walk to the scrub and back and I have to withstand the pain of another angrily untrusting glare. Yeah it seriously hurts because I seriously hate lying, like seriously. Sorry, just trying to make fun of my usage of the English language. I promise I will do my best to never repeat it. I swear on the... angel? God? My life? Idk I'll just stop joking because I'm not even funny. Byeee.Yeah I know that was an awful chapter but it was important okay. Good.
