Drowning

I felt myself going down the minute my brain registered his words.

I was drowning. And no one could save me.

His heart got cold.
So cold it started to show in his features.
That he didn't want my love anymore.
My presence gave a sense of hatred, of anger
And he reacts with clench fists and
bloodshot eyes.
A love that was as pure as gold
was now discoloured with the shades
of darkness

I was drowning. And no one could save me.

My heart took a dip in the depths of
deep water
As he clearly outlined the ending of our
paradise.
There was nothing I could do
Nothing I could say
To make him realize that he was
making the biggest mistake of his life.
I stared deep into his clouded eyes,
searching, hoping that he was lying.
That this was a dream and I would
wake up soon.
Lying safely in the comfort of his arms
But his soul was wrecked from the idea
of our love

And so I was drowning. Finally thinking,
That no one could save me.
