Now I See You

I wrote this poem for my friend's boyfriend on his birthday. Hope you enjoy.

I watched him for the past five minutes.
Looking and wondering at his presence
Right there in front of me.
I thought about my life and how it had changed
Maybe not all at once but slowly and peacefully it had.
He was the one person, who tore my feelings apart,
And gently put them back together
How could this be?
I built my walls so high I didn't dare anyone to climb it
But he did..... And here he was
In my sight, in my vision, my every thought.
He shares my emotions and my everything else with his.
I can never be ungrateful,
For love brought me another part of my life I never knew existed.
Seeing and wondering about his effect on me,
I watch him for another five minutes
Right there in front of me he sat, the love of my life.
Slowly, but surely changing it.
