"I still can't believe that Miracle went for $3,000! I mean that has to be the highest bid we have ever gotten on one of the rescue horses." Misty said from Clay's bathroom in his loft that night.

"I can believe it. We had a good lot of horses this year, and you worked your back off makin' them the best they could be. The mustangs went for a lot, too." Clay responded from his seat on the couch. He had let Misty take a shower in his bathroom, and for the past ten minutes, they had carried on a conversation through the closed door. It was comical to Clay that she couldn't wait until she was finished in the bathroom to talk to him.

"It really was a good year. The roundup, especially, was amazing." There was a smile in Misty's voice, and Clay knew exactly why, but decided to tease her.

"Oh yeah, I agree, the weather was pretty nice, the horses behaved for the most part, and we were able to save a bunch of horses. It was a good time." Clay was glad Misty wasn't in the living room with him because if she was, she would have seen him containing a laugh, and she probably would have slugged him.

"Really, that's it? It had nothin' to do with your partner on the roundup or anything? The weather was nice, and the horses behaved? That was your favorite part?" Misty played back, knowing Clay was teasing.

Clay let out a chuckle. "Hurry up and get dressed so you can come out here and I can kiss you." He bit his lip, trying to contain a smile as he looked towards the bathroom door, shaking his head.

"Hey, babe?" Misty peaked her head out of the bathroom door, not responding to Clay's cute comment. "Can you come here for a second, please?"

Clay stopped flipping through channels on the TV to walk over to the bathroom. "Yes, honey?" He asked, seeing Misty poke her head into the hallway. She was wearing shorts, but had a towel wrapped around her chest.

"I forgot a shirt. Can I please borrow one of yours?"

Again, Clay attempted to hide his smile as he thought about how cute his girlfriend looked. "Yeah, I'll go grab you one." Walking into his bedroom, he grabbed the smallest shirt he could find, handing it to Misty through the slightly opened bathroom door.

"Thank you." She smiled, closing the door. Seconds later, Misty came out of the bathroom, a comb in her hand. Walking into the living room where Clay sat, she handed him the comb, sitting on the floor between his legs.

Very softly, and ever so carefully, so he didn't pull her hair, Clay ran the comb through Misty's wet hair. His fingers grazed her neck as he moved some hair off of her neck, sending chills across her body. Clay noticed the chills and leaned forward, pushing more hair away to land a soft kiss on her neck. Running his hands down to hold her waist, Clay placed another kiss on her soft neck.

Letting out a sigh, Misty reached a hand up and played with Clay's beard as his lips made their way to her cheek. "This is dangerous, Clay." Misty smiled, turning her head to kiss Clay on the lips once.

As quick as the moment happened, it was over when Clay pulled back, resuming his combing of Misty's hair. "Stop distracting me, I am trying to comb your hair." Clay chuckled, knowing his comment would get a rise out of his girlfriend.

"You're terrible." Misty smiled, closing her eyes as Clay ran the comb through her long hair. She loved having her hair played with, something Clay quickly figured out.

Only a few minutes later, all of the tangles and knots were out of Misty's hair, and she was leaning back against Clay's chest as they sat on the couch. Clay was still flipping through the channels, attempting to find anything entertaining to watch at ten at night.
