The next morning, I woke up to the pleasant feel of lips pressed against my right temple. I opened my eyes and looked over to see Morty, happily tucked between my arm and my side. I smiled, still tired, and planted a kiss on his forehead, watching a smile grow on his lips. He was absolutely giddy in this moment, and it didn't take a genius to figure that out.
"Morning, baby." He smiled and wrapped his arms around me, pressing his face against my collarbone. "Morning," his voice was muffled, the vibrations against my chest making me jump and laugh. He sat up, "Are you serious? You have a tickle spot?" His eyes were wide, "Dude!"
"Nah, don't e-even try it." I sat up and pulled a pillow against my chest in an effort to ward him off. Morty just giggled and moved around his room, grabbing a change of clothes. "Join me in the shower?" I grinned, pulling my boxers on, "Meet you there."
I ran to my room, glad nobody else seemed to be awake because I didn't want to throw on the rest of my clothes, and grabbed a new outfit. However, I decided to go with another black t-shirt, abandoning the lab coat and leaving the jacket. I rushed back to the bathroom to find Morty already in the shower, pulling back the curtain and laughing, "You're slow!"
I threw my change in clothes on the shelf near his and moved swiftly, removing my boxers and hopping below the hot water with Morty.
Let's just say things got a little steamy.
"No, the author is not sorry for that." (Dying)

When we finally finished up and went downstairs, Beth was already making breakfast. Summer was on the couch, talking to her boyfriend and laughing. Morty and I moved to the kitchen, sitting together at the table and waiting for Beth to finish cooking. "Have you seen Jerry lately?" She turned around, making four plates and setting the around the table. "Summer, food's ready!" Beth looked back at us, particularly me, "He hasn't been home in a few days. What is he planning?"
I sighed, pulling my plate closer to me, "I don't know eugh but we have to keep an eye out. There's something eugh suspicious about him having friends." I sighed and ate some eggs, watching Beth roll her eyes, "I'm being serious, dad."
"Me, too. Seriously. He didn't have eugh friends that he claimed to go hang out with until M-Morty and I were to-together." Beth's eyes widened in realization after a minute, "You're right."
"Uh," Morty looked unsure, "are we sure we'll be fine with separating and going to our little parties, then?" He looked up at me, fear evident in his eyes.
"We'll be eugh fine, just as long as you remember your ring. But, eugh whatever you do, don't make it obvious. Something tells me Jerry isn't as dumb eugh as he's been letting on. Or, at least, his 'friend' isn't."
Summer walked into the room, "So I heard that. Morty, I'm going to your party tonight. Grampa can handle himself. I'm gonna help you, and Mark agreed to come too." Summer grinned, grabbing her plate and digging in. I smiled softly, a feeling of dread building up inside of me, "Thanks, Summer." I grabbed Morty's hand, afraid of what was to come.

"Listen, alright?" Morty was pulling his shirt over his head, getting ready to go to his bachelor party. "I don't care what you get into, what you do, or who you talk to, but you stay sober enough to be able to properly respond if something goes wrong. I trust your friends to be able to handle it, but I need to know my hero will be there for me, too, not just his sidekicks." We'd spent the entire day discussing what we were to do if things went wrong, as well as who to call and what to say. I was sending Morty off with a few flash-grenades, nothing too harmful. We all knew Jerry was up to something big, but we didn't know what it was. That was what made it worse.
Jerry was too stupid to know when he'd gone too far.
I pulled Morty to me once he'd pulled his shirt on, "I know, baby. I eugh I'm so worried, I honestly don't know if I-I'll drink at all tonight." I buried my face in his hair, a worried sigh pushing past my lips. Morty buried his face in my chest momentarily before turning to the side, "Me, too." He shifted and kissed my cheek, "You stay safe, Rick. I don't know what I would do if I lost you. It took me so long to get this far, I don't want to lose it all because my dad's a dumbass."
"I will be. Remember, 180 degrees and I'll come as fast as I can. Keep your eugh portal gun on you, but only use it if there's an emergency. eugh I'm sending 132 to your party, too. He's eugh bringing his Morty. They're both really good at kicking eugh ass, believe it or not. Not as dainty as they appear."
I pulled Morty into a kiss, emotions flooding my mind as I found myself not wanting to let go. I was worried that I'd lose him, angry at Jerry for causing this, excited that we were to be married tomorrow, and sad that I had to let him go tonight. I pulled back after a minute, resting my forehead against his. "Don't forget, I love you."
He giggled, "I love you, too."
"Alright, you guys, it's time to roll." Summer walked into the room, Mark standing next to her. They had both dressed up, Summer in a blue dress while Mark stood in a suit with a matching tie. According to Summer, it was her 'most elastic dress, allowing for quick movements'. I thought this entire thing sounded like a James Bond movie, the more we went through this.
"Ok. I'm ready." Morty walked towards Summer once I'd managed to pull my arms away. My heart felt heavy and I was honestly afraid I'd cry. I don't know what the kid did, but I was experiencing more emotions that I was used to. "I love you, Rick."
"I love you, too, a million times over, Morty." Summer pulled Morty along as he double checked he had everything. As they drove away, I turned to face Beth.
"You call me if that eugh jackass stops by for anything. He's not gonna get out of this without me kicking his ass." Beth smiled and nodded, a woeful expression in her eyes. "I will. You better kick it hard before I kill him."
I pulled my portal gun out of my pocket, checking to make sure I had everything myself. Wearing my classiest black t-shirt and dress pants, I walked through a portal, "Be careful, Beth."
I found myself on another planet, the party being held at one of Squanchy's houses. He had a few of them, located on a few unlisted planets. Once I got there, everybody started yelling and Squanchy made his way over to me, a cup in his hand.
"Rick! So nice to squanch you!" He grinned before his expression grew serious, "I squanched about the issue. I'll make sure you don't get too squanched, and if anything happens, I'll squanch a few mothersquanchers. Nobody gets between my squanches and their squanch." I chuckled halfheartedly, "Thanks, Squanchy."
We walked into the crowd, bodies moving everywhere. People were shouting, congratulating me or asking to do shots. I declined, offering to do it some other time, and walked around some more, absolutely shaking with nerves.
I made my way to the side of the house, sitting on a sofa and placing my head in my hands. Something didn't feel right. Something was wrong, but I didn't know what.
The second I felt a buzz in my pocket, I knew.
"Squanchy! It's Morty!" In a heartbeat, the two of us were running through a portal to find my baby.
