Chapter 16

Planet One's Message

We waiting impatiently, leaning onto the TARDIS back in the luggage room. I was getting irritable, waiting for Amy to arrive. An hour ago was the time we were suppose to meet here to leave. The ship was sinking in two hours and we couldn’t lollygag. I sighed heavily.

“She’ll be here any second, AJ,” the Doctor said.

I rolled my eyes.

Like the Doctor said, two minutes later, Amy came running towards us… pulling Russell.

“Sorry! Really. We got lost and ended up in the engine room and it took us forever to find our way here,” she apologized.

Russell seemed rather confused looking up at the blue police box and my modern 21th century clothes. I had taken the time while waiting to go to my room and change back into my usual clothes. It was much more comfortable than those fancy dresses and not to mention converse shoes were more my style. Definitely when they were bright yellow.

“So, Doctor… I thought about it and what if we took Russell with us?” Amy suggested like I knew she would the moment I saw that the American was with her when she came down.

“Take me where, Amelia? You’ve been speaking of some trip, but you haven’t told me where!” Russell snapped.

Amy took a deep breath and turned to him.

“Everywhere,” she smiled, but he looked doubtful. “This,” she pointed the TARDIS, “can travel throughout all time and space! We can go anywhere you’d like!” she explained. “I’m not from the 20th century, but the 21st,” Amy added.

He didn’t say anything, but he backed away from her as if her crazy was contagious. She took his hand and pulled him into the TARDIS which she unlocked with a key the Doctor gave her.

The Doctor and I followed them inside. Russell was frowning in anger as he looked around.

“What the… This! This is the work of the devil! This is unnatural!” he shouted.

“Russell, it’s just bigger on the inside-“ she started.

“NO! This is unholy! You are unholy! I knew there was something about you and your little family, but I didn’t know you were witches and wizards! You will all burn in the fired of Hell!” he snapped, pointing us all of accusing finger. He turned back to Amy. “You disgust me!”

And, furious and close minded, he walked out, slamming the TARDIS door.

Tears started to roll down Amy’s perfectly cheeks and she ran out of the main room towards her bedroom as the Doctor and I stood awkwardly around the controls.

“This is why I prefer 21st century companions, so much more open minded about the wonders of the world,” he sighed and went up the stairs to go comfort Amelia.

We stepped out of the TARDIS onto Planet One, the oldest planet in the universe. The Doctor had told us that the first recorded message in history was writing 50 feet high on the side of a cliff and that it had never been translated. And that’s what he wanted to do.

It had been a few weeks since the Titanic and Amy was mostly over her little fling with Russell.

The planet was very tropical with a rain forest feel to it. There was, like he said, a tall cliff in front of us. At first, all I could see were weird symbols engraved into the rock, but as I blinked, words in English appeared. The exact words were “Hello Sweetie” with a bunch of Greek letters underneath.

“Vavoom!” Amy chuckled and the Doctor took my hand to pull me back into the TARDIS.

Without saying anything, he started to enter coordinates into the TARDIS.

“Wait, wait! What’s going on? What does the “Hello sweetie” mean? You both look so excited all of a sudden!” I said, utterly confused by the fact that they seemed like in such a hurry.

“That’s because we are excited!” Amy replied.

“Why?”

“River Song,” the Doctor simply smiled.
