CHATER 21

DEAD AMY, PLASTIC RORY AND A FEZ

I stayed rolled up in a ball, covering my face with my hands as a sobbed heavily for a long time. Everything was so quiet, if the Doctor was talking in the Pandorica, there was no way of hearing him. I was terrified, on my own in the dark, shaking uncontrollable. I was too afraid to go up the stairs by fear the aliens were still around, but I did push myself to get up and walk up to the box. I placed a hand on it and started searching for a way to open it, but it was a sealed box with no opening whatsoever. I leaned against the box and left myself fall to the floor.

“Doctor… If you can hear me somehow… Know that you are the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” I whispered into the darkness. “Know that you are my hero and… I love you…”

More warm tears poured from my eyes, but I was suddenly started when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Getting ready to die, I rolled myself into a ball and simply stayed there. I was done with hiding and running, without the Doctor, I was stuck here anyways. But to my relief, Rory came down and he was holding the sonic screwdriver in his hand.

“AJ, you ok?” he asked once he saw me looking pathetic on the floor.

“Maybe…” I sniffed.

“Move aside, I’m freeing the Doctor,” he announced.

Excitedly, my heart jumped in my chest. I smiled and hurried to get up to get behind him. He pointed the sonic on the Pandorica and the green light started to glow at the tip. After a moment of the Pandorica opening from the inside, it finally opened at the surface, showing us a Doctor with a look of amazement on his face.

“How did you do that?” he asked.

“You gave me this?” Rory showed the sonic in his hand.

“No, I didn’t…” the Doctor replied as he stood out of the Pandorica and took out his sonic screwdriver from the inside pocket of his tweed blazer.

Unable to contain my joy any longer, I slightly pushed Rory aside and threw myself on to the Doctor, wrapping my arms around him. I buried my face into his neck.

“You scared me,” I complained.

“I’m here now,” he replied, hugging me back.

I watched as the Doctor and Rory argued. It turns out that Rory isn’t human, but plastic and, with a gun inside his hand, he shot Amy and she’s dead. But there was a way to restore her fortunately. I helped place her in the Pandorica that you find living DNA and bring her whole body back to life. But the thing is that she has to stay in there for 2000 years. Which is a very long time if you didn’t know.

Rory was insisting on staying with the Pandorica to keep Amy safe while the Doctor insisted he come with us to the future with River’s vortex manipulator.

The Doctor finally caved when it was obvious Amy would be in fact safer if Rory stayed. He took my hand in his and started giving Rory advice not to get in trouble as his body can’t repair itself when suddenly, Rory was no longer in front of us.

Vortex manipulator travel is difficult to describe. I could see the vortex in front of me but we weren’t exactly in it like when we traveled by TARDIS. A had a weird itchy sensation all over my body until, finally we appeared in what looked like some museum.

One side, there was Amy and a small ginger little girl, on the other side was one of the aliens that had locked the Doctor away.

“Two of you? Complicated,” the Doctor commented, looking at Amy and the little girl.

The alien spoke in it’s shaky robotic voice.

“Exterminate! Weapon system restoring!”

The Doctor, not letting go of my hand, took the little girl’s hand and pulls us out of the room.

“Come along, Ponds! …And Jacob!” he added after a brief moment.

We walked into a room full of North African exhibits. The Doctor let go of our hands as he stumbled into a mannequin and randomly stole the fez on its head, putting it on his.

“You look silly,” I commented.

“Well, you look... oh whatever!” he said with no witty come back.

A watchman walked into the room with a torch. The Doctor pushed us three to hide behind the Pandorica. He turned to me and Amy.

“You two, leave. Get out of here,” he ordered.

Amy didn’t move and neither did I for the matter.

“No,” I replied firmly.

“AJ, please. This is dangerous,” he insisted.

“I go where you go, that’s the safest place to me, Doctor. I’m not leaving your side.”
