Nicky's POV
I woke up like every other day on this island. Right next to Duncan. I smiled up at him. "C'mon, we have to get up" I said.
He pouted and pulled me tighter to his chest. "No" be said stubbornly. "Yes" I said. We glared at each other, until he smiled.
"Okay, okay, we'll get up" he said and we got down from his bunk. We got changed and went to the lodge for breakfast. But there wasn't any.
Everyone else noticed this as well.  "What?! No breakfast?!" Trent exclaimed. "Oh, don't worry, bro. There will be plenty of food later on" said Chris, though he and Chef started giggling.
"What you two bozos so giggly about?" asked LaShawna ad she entered, causing them to giggle some more.
"Congratulations to the remaining ten campers for reaching the halfway mark in the competition. You'll all be on the jury for the final episode" said Chris.
"Got the power! Yeah!!" Geoff exclaimed.
"The two teams will become one next week. But first, all the girls will be moved to the Gopher cabin, and all the guys will stay in the Bass cabin. This weeks challenge is as old as history itself. A battle of the sexes" said Chris.
Duncan winked at me, and I playfully stuck my tongue out at him.
"After everyone is settled in, I'll announce the challenge. And then, you'll have a, uh, bite to eat" he finished, and he and Chef started giggling again.
"Ready for a little good news? This week, no one will be kicked off" he said, and we all cheered.
"Its all for reward, and its a GOOD one. Okay, time to relocate, lets move!" Chris finished and we all went to our cabins.
On our way, I saw Heather approach Bridget, and she seemed to be complimenting her. I rolled my eyes. Heather is a wack job.
I packed my stuff with Bridget, and went to the Gopher cabin. I bumped into Geoff. I gave him a knowing smile, and went to see Duncan. I smiled at him.
"Well, I'm glad that we were able to be on the same team" I said. "Yeah. Just so you know, you can come over here anytime the girls get catty" he said. "So, I guess I'm moving in with you guys" I joked. We laughed, and we hugged.
"I'll see you later" I said and walked with Bridget to the Gopher cabin. I stopped.
"No. I don't wanna. I like LaShawna and Gwen, I really do, but I don't wanna be over here" I said. Bridget sighed and pulled me along. I could already hear LaShawna yelling at Heather. I dug my feet in the ground and crossed my arms.
"I wanna go back with Duncan" I pouted. "Won't you just go over to him anyway?" asked Bridget. I nodded, and sighed, wanting to get it over with.
"Nobody's leaving until I find out who ate my pudding pockets!" LaShawna was saying. "I ate them. So what?" said Heather.
"Woah! Pump the breaks a minute! Your so whating me?! That's my food! No one touches my food!" she yelled.
"Whatever! Deal with it! Serves you right for leaving your junk everywhere! Especially that! That is bugging me!" said Heather, pointing to LaShawna's bra.
"Yeah, it'd bug me too if I didn't have something in the front or the back to shake" LaShawna argued back.
"Yeah? Well, you've got so much junk in the trunk that your jeans should come with a trash compactor!" Heather yelled back. I gave Bridget a pointed look, and went to leave, but she pulled me back.
"Ooo! You want a piece of this?!" LaShawna yelled, looking ready to fight.
"Uh oh" said Bridget, and they all looked at us.
"Bridget! Nicky! Its so good to see you!" Heather said with fake enthusiasm. "Come in, come in! Welcome to our cabin! We're like a big family here" she said, linking her arms with ours.
"Big, and dysfunctional" said Gwen.
"Anything you need, just yell" Heather added. I was honestly scared. "Um, thanks Heather" I said, and took a top bunk right in the spot where Duncan's would have been, so that means I was right above Gwen.
Heather continued her assault of niceness on Bridget.
"This is great! I bet we're getting along much better than the guys" said Lindsay. I heard a loud burp.
I smiled.
"Hey, I'm going for a walk, I'll be back in a minute" I said, and walked out. Bridget gave me a knowing look.
I knocked on the boy's cabin, and Trent answered.
"Forget something?" he asked. I shook my head.
"Nope. I figured it was more fun over here" I said.
"Hey Nicky! Come on in!" Geoff called. I smiled and walked in.
"Just an FYI, Bridget misses you" I told him. "She said that?" he asked, his eyes filled with hope. "Well, no, but I can tell" I said. He nodded and smiled. "In that case, since you are one of the coolest chicks here, you can come by anytime" he said, and I smiled. "Thanks!" I said and I felt Duncan wrap his arms around me from behind.
With that, we went to the lodge to find out what our challenge was for this week.
"Its time for today's challenge!" said Chris. "Uh, where's breakfast at?" asked LaShawna. Chris and Chef giggled again. I leaned into Duncan, not liking where this was going. I have a really weak stomach. "Stop doing that!" Heather yelled.
"Lets just tell them. Today's challenge is... the Brunch of Disgustingness!" sai Chris.
"You'll be getting a nine course meal. Each member of each team must finish each dish. You will not know if the next dish is grosser than the last, not as gross, or just as gross. Just that it will likely be gross" said Chris.
"Tell them what they'll get if they win, Chris!" exclaimed Chef.
"The winning team spends two days at a local five star resort, where they'll be pampered, eat gourmet nosh, and be given antibiotics against anything they may have caught while eating in this challenge. The losing team will go hungry tonight, and spend the next two nights here, on Total Drama Island, with Chef" said Chris, and Chef smiled evilly.
I gulped and moved closer to Duncan, and he put an arm around me, then he tugged me a few steps back like a scared kid with a teddy bear.
"We are going to win this challenge" said Heather.
We sat down. LaShawna started to do a bit of trash talk, but I didn't pay attention.
I didn't care if we won, I was just worried about my nightmares. One of these teams was winning, so that meant sleepless nights because Duncan wouldn't be around.
He was my security blanket.
"Let's begin the challenge. First, some orderves" said Chris, and we lifted the cover of the plates (IDK how to spell the friggin word, sorry).
It had meat balls. I ate one, and covered my ears so that I wouldn't know what it was. The guys actually started crying, so I knew it was bad. I smiled slightly when Geoff helped out Bridget.
It was cute.
The guys started to argue over something, but I didn't know what. The plates were taken away, and I uncovered my ears.
"You guys like pizza?" asked Chris. I shrugged. I've had it a few times, but not too much. It was pretty good.
Yeah, this pizza had jellyfish, live anchovies and grasshoppers.
That was it for me. I ran out the door and puked over the side of the railing. I told you I had a weak stomach. I felt someone hold back my hair.
I puked to the point of tears falling and I felt like I was about to pass out. Chris came out to check on me.
"Okay, this is probably gonna kill you. After looking at your medical history, you can skip the challenge" he said. I nodded and puked again.
I saw that Duncan was holding my hair back. I nodded to him and decided to go lay down. I went to the boy's cabin, and took a nap on Duncan's bed.
After the guy's won
I woke up to someone shaking me awake. I opened my eyes and gave a small smile to Duncan.
"How are you feeling?" he asked. I shrugged. "As good as I can be. Who won?" I asked. "Us. But, if you want, you can still sleep in here" he said. I nodded.
"Do you have a hoodie I can sleep in. It will probably help with the nightmares" I asked. He nodded and went through his stuff. He finally handed me a black hoodie with a skull.
I smiled and put it on.
"Thanks" I said.
"Well, we're about to leave. Come on" he said, and I walked with him to the docks. I kissed him goodbye, and watched them leave.
I walked to the boy's cabin, climbed into Duncan's bed, and slowly fell asleep, smiling when I heard that Heather and Lindsay were locked out of the cabin.
