Chapter 4
Who I Am
It’s been almost 3 weeks since Tao knew I was a vampire and I was surprised he didn’t tell anyone because they all acted … normal, only a little suspicious to why I’ve been avoiding Tao. They think we had a fight or something.
Yeah, I’ve avoiding Tao not because I’m a vampire but because I don’t know who I am anymore. A vampire who acts like a human? Or a scary monster?
I sighed. Today was Sunday night and I have a day off, so does Tao. The rest were either having fun outside or doing their schedule.
“Are you still thinking about Tao?” Ace came flying over my head.
“Yeah.” I answered.
“Well after what happened, you’re in deep trouble my friend.” He landed over my head. “And a bat like me can’t help. Is there anyway I can help?”
I smiled. “You said it yourself, a bat like you can’t help in anything. Don’t worry about it.” I said as I looked outside at the night. Searching the skies.
“What’s on your mind now?” Asked Ace.
“I know I can’t keep hiding my identity for ever from Tao. So I need to tell him face to face that I’m a vampire."
“And scare him again and be called a demon? You’re crazy!"
“I know but … that night I met my father and he said I will turn him or kill him.” I said. Remembering the scary words from the my father. ‘Either kill him or turn him.'
“Do you know those vampires who turn to bats can’t be told or sensed by other vampires?” Ace suddenly popped the question.
I shook my head. “No I didn’t” ‘What is he trying to get to? This is completely different to what I’m talking about.’
“What I’m trying to say is that vampire bats are half human.” He transferred to his human like self. “You think I’m a normal human without anything suspicious going on and you can read my mind like any other human.”
“What’s your point?”
“My point is if he chose being a vampire over death, let me turn him. This way he can still feel like he’s a human. But might want to drink blood a few times and needs to wear shades when he’s in the sun.” Ace explained his point.
“Ace, you’re my friend but that’s gonna have to be a no.” I said.
“I’m just offering a human to be half human only."
“What are you talking about?”
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
Ace quickly transformed back into a bad and flew out the window. Tao came in.
“I heard you talking to someone.” He said as he looked around the bedroom. ‘No one. I swear I heard talking.’ He looked at me. ‘You can read my mind, can’t you?’
I sighed. “Yes I can.”
“Why were avoiding me the past 3 weeks?” He asked.
“Why were you trying to get me to say something that is very dangerous. Thanks to your thoughts you were almost killed that night. What were you thinking?” I yelled at him.
“I’m sorry. I don’t have a good reason why to. It’s just my brain kept saying that you’re a vampire and I wanted to know if that’s true.” He said. I can see that he meant every word. His brain was screaming ‘I’m sorry’ as well. “But what I don’t get is why you were so caught up and hiding when I figured your secret. Everybody can see that and they’re wondering the same thing.”
