Chapter 13
Her Heart
It’s been almost a month since I saw Gaia, well more like talk to her. The last time I was with her, a dangerous shadow followed us, and so to keep her safe I stopped going out with her, just watch her at night sleeping like an angel.
There were times where I stand near her but can’t talk to her, hold her, can’t do anything. “Gaia…” I whispered. I was sitting on the floor in a practice room. My body doesn’t feel like dancing at all.
“Hyung, are you okay?” Tao sat next to me. We sat away from the window to avoid the sun rays from hitting our skin. “What are you thinking about? Gaia?”
I nodded. “I can’t stop thinking about her! I want to see her!”
“But don’t you go see her every night?”
“Well … Yeah. So many night I watched her sleep, I tried to resist but it got so deep!”
Tao looked at the ceiling while I looked at the wooden floor. “Hey, there where times were we actually stood next to her. Why don’t you didn’t you do something?” He asked.
"Gaia … when she's next to me she’s still out of my reach…”
“And you still long for her?!” He ended the sentence for me.
I nodded. “My soul was dark; I seize the night but she was the angel that showed me the light. During the past days I tried to be strong without seeing her but it appeared that I can’t be as strong as I was before … because I longed to see her again.”
“I see. But you’re a vampire, she’s a human. Different souls different worlds.”
“The night I met her I looked into her heart and discovered my true self but like you said, I’ll never be apart of her world.” I said. ‘I need her but I can’t reach her thanks to our separated worlds.’ I said in my mind. I looked at Tao and wondered what he’s thinking. A vampire can never read other vampire’s mind and with Tao’s thoughts slowly becoming deaf, I can tell he’s becoming a vampire like me.
“Go!” He said. “Go to her. Watch over her. But never talk to her because the danger that is lurking in the shadows. Watch over and protect her.”
“I will always protect her. If I had blood, I’ll bleed for her.”
Tao smiled. “I bet Gaia showed you love, something you never knew.”
“Okay guys let;s go home and eat some raw meat!” Luhan said as he came in with Lay following him.
“Raw meat?” Tao said with clear disgust on his face.
“Yes raw meat, better than human blood. I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately. I’m craving like a pregnant woman for meat and my nose is tracking every meat shop in Korea, the world possibly.” Luahn said. He took his bag and went out of the dance room. The other came in as well, claimed their stuff and went out of the building.
We got out of the building and got greeted by a sea of fangirls. A screaming sea that is and of full of banners and flashy cameras.
“Don’t these girls have someone else they could annoy? Friends? Family? A poisonous reptile?” Chanyeol said in a low tone. I believe the girls don’t want to hear what he said because if they did they’ll use us instead of mops and wipe the floor with us!!
As we walked to the far away van, I heard some girls commenting on why someone not walking with someone but the other someone who should be holding hands with the first someone who they think they are dating with the fourth someone, which happened to be me, and why the fifth someone isn’t making an entrance to grab the attention of the first someone!!!
“Why does the van seem so far away?” Baekhyung shouted causing the fans to scream louder.
“Seriously, why do they do that! I know girls complain but not this much!” Kai said.
“Well this is a new generation of girls so we don’t know what they have in store for us!” Lay answered.
When we finally reached the van we climbed quickly and shut the door before a crazy fangirl could get it. The girls were like flies stuck on a spider web except it’s a van this time. Some of them where knocking on the windows but we ignored them.
“Will you step on the gas!!” Lay yelled. Obviously he was angry like an angry wolf. The driver obeyed and slowly drove, trying not to run over girls. When the path was cleared a little the van moved in a fast speed. Luhan who was sitting at the front ended up in the back.
“Traffic red light!” The driver announced.
“Traffic red light!” We all repeated as one.
“… red light!” Except for Tao because he’s always late.
I looked out of the window and saw Gaia on the street walk. I shut my eyes close and opened them and she still there with her mother. My mind said something about her looking for me. ‘Gaia …’ I wish I can get out of the van and go hug her but I can’t. I sighed and continued staring at her. ‘Don’t wait for me … I’ll never be a part of your world, but I’m in your heart forever. Gaia, if you need me then look into your heart!’ The van slowly moved forward leaving Gaia standing back. I kept looking at her until I couldn’t see her anymore. ‘Just look into your hear for I will always be there forever!’
