The Definition of Love
The ride was silent but long, like we’re traveling to a very far away world by car. My thought we’re surrounded by Gaia. Her image won’t escape my mind, her smile is stuck in my mind. Every time we pass by a girl, they all look like Gaia. ‘What’s going on with me? I’m running out of my mind and I don’t really know her…yet… I don’t know...'
“Hey what are you thinking about?” Asked Tao. He sat next to me since the seat was empty. “I’ll tell you what I’m thinking about, I’m thinking about that gloomy sky which means it’s gonna rain but that’s not the point, I’m thinking about how I will run if it rains!”
“Simple. Put you’re umbrella over your head and walk normally.” I answered without even looking at him. At this very moment I didn’t want to talk to anyone right now.
Tao leaned to my ear. “You’re thinking about her, aren’t you?” He whispered.
I gave a small, slight nod. “I want to see here once again…” I whispered. Not sure if he heard me or not but I don’t care if he did … or not.
“Gaia. I admit she’s a very beautiful girl, a beautiful girl that doesn’t look like a human but an angel.” He complemented her beauty.
“She is indeed an angel.” I agreed with him. She’s the angel who appeared in my dream. “I feel like I’m just being pathetic.”
“Kris, I never thought I’ll say this … or even believe it, but you’re in love!”
“What?”
“It’s real love, something I’m afraid you don’t know about.”
“What’s love?” I asked like a dopey-dope.
“Well … it’s … uhhhhh … not the same type you have for your parents or friends or siblings … but … uhhhh …”
“Don’t have any idea, do you?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Give me a minute, I’ll think of something! It's . . . Ummm . . . Hey, Kai, what’s love?”
Kai turned around and transformed into Einstein within a second. “Love is the 7th sense of human that destroys all the six senses and make the person senseless.” He said. ‘And I believe Tao is in love with someone because he’s always senseless. And I believe I lost my sense of humor. Why aren't they laughing? Why is he asking that question anyway?’ Kai said in his mind.
“No, no, no, no, no, and a no!” Baekhyun said as he turned towards us as well; huge nerdy glasses popped on his face. “Kai, my friend, your definition is wrong! Love is a form of amnesia. When a girl falls in love, she forgets that there is over 1.2 billion other boys in the world.”
I made a slightly frowned face. ‘So you’re saying that I’m having amnesia? That might be true though but wait, I'm not a girl!!!’
“It’s actually a nature’s way of tricking people into reproducing!!” Chanyeol said, somewhere in the mini van/bus.
“NO! We mustn’t let Lay breed!” Luhan yelled.
“Hey! Why are you yelling? Trying to make me go deaf??” Chanyeol yelled back.
“Here’s my definition! Love is wildly misunderstood although it's highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.” Said Lay. From his voice we can all tell he’s bored.
“I believe that NONE of us here have an idea on what love really means?” I said. i don’t even know what love is because I never felt in my entire life.
“What do you think our fans think of the definition of love?” Wondered Tao.
“I’ll tell you. They use the triumph of imagination over intelligence. That it is!” Answered Sehun.
“What does this suppose to mean!? That's not even a proper definition!!” I said.
“I don’t know but it’s true!!” Sehun replied as he sat back down.
“I agree with Sehun because when fans come into the world of K-Pop and see many male groups, they don’t just fall in love with over 20 oppas, but they also have a severe mental disorder, where they think that one day they will marry their oppa.” Said Suho. “At this very moment there’s probably over 120 million girls daydreaming of marrying Lay.”
“Why do they want to marry me? What did I do to them? There are other boys in the world who they can marry!!” Whined Lay. More like started to panic. Well if I was in his place and know that over 120 million girls daydreaming about marrying me, I’ll panic.
“I believe that Lay agrees with me!!” Clapped Baekhyun.
“I believe that everyone have their own definition of love so save your definition challenge game!” D.O said out of the blue. “And don’t ask me for my definition because I don’t have one and I don’t care.”
“Mood ruiner!!” Kai frowned as everyone went back to their seat and continued doing what their were doing before they slipped into the conversation like hey what’s up.
I looked at the sky that’s almost dark and Gaia’s face appeared between the afternoon stars. I smiled. ‘Gaia, I never know what love is or what it felt like until the day I met you. After all I think vampires do know what love is but never felt it towards humans, like I’m feeling towards you.' I placed my hand of my un-beating heart and closed my eyes. ‘If this what love feels like then I want to keep feeling it forever because it’s a wonderful feeling~'
