Thankfully, the rest of our day at the dauntless headquarters consisted of a tour and lectures on rules. I didn't have to talk to Four at all but I did have to listen and follow him as he showed us the pit and training rooms. He didn't even try to make eye contact, the others didn't either. I don't know if it was disappointment that they didn't seems to care that I existed or relief that they gave me the space I needed.
The moment they dismissed us, Aiden grabbed my hand and pulled me out the doors and down the hall, chuckling and a funny grin on his face. I hear more footsteps behind us so I turn my head as much I can while running and see Mason and Charley behind us.
"Aiden, where are we going?" I ask, laughing.

Feeling exhilarated by the sensation of my legs moving fast beneath me, propelling me forward I throw my head back. Aiden still griping my hand.

I'm still laughing when I run into something, I lose my grip on Aiden's hand and fall on the floor with a loud thump.

"Ouch!" I say still laughing so hard my eyes are watering. That is until I see who I bumped into.

<>FOUR'S POV<>

I hear laughing in the background along with loud fast steps that indicate someone is running towards me and Marlene. Things with her have been bumpy ever since Tris first got to know us all. Mar started to think that I was cheating on her with Tris, I tried to explain that I was trying to help her with her situation at home with Andrew. After awhile Mar made me promise that I wouldn't spend time with Tris outside of our group, being the stupid person I am I agreed. Soon it started to hurt seeing how much she was hurting and I thought the best way to deal with it is to eliminate the pain from the source so I ignored her completely, but it still hurt so I wanted her to start a new life somewhere else where she wouldn't hurt so much and I wouldn't have to see her in pain. Yes, she was right when she called me a stupid, self-centered jackass. It hurt so much when she yelled that at me with nothing but pain and anger in her eyes, but she was so, so right. There is no good excuse for what I did it was unnervingly selfish. Every man in her life has betrayed her and I was no exception.

I focus back on the conversation with Marlene, when someone goes shooting past me and the other crashes into me knocking me forward only slightly. They land on the floor with a loud thump but they stay on the floor still laughing their head off. That laugh sounds familiar it's such a rare, beautiful sound that I have only heard a couple times. I turn around curious to find who's laugh it belongs to and to see who finds running into strangers so hilarious. My face drops.
