Chaptet 8

The lock clicks and the door flies open knocking over Kerrie in the process. Phoenix rushes forward and stands in front of her as a short lady with white hair, green eyes and a sickening grin that was cut in half by a scar, running from her left cheekbone all the way down to her pink lips.

Two towering figures march in behind her, each tightly wrapped in a black cloak.

Phoenix and Kerrie visibly flinch when one if the two figures turn to shut the door.

The lady scans the room and her eyes land on me. She takes a couple of steps forward and stops in front of Felix who stands before me.

"Out of my way boy" she says in a startlingly deep voice to Felix whilst she kept her piercing eyes trained on me.

Why the hell is her voice soo deep? WTF? My mum's voice is pretty deep but damn this is soo messed up

Felix jumps in shock but covers it up by rocking back and forth on his heels, putting on a bored face to not show how intimidating she was.

"Not until you tell us who you are and why" Felix says bravely

The lady snickers and the sound sends shivers up my back, she pushes Felix out of her way and now stands in front of me.

Her emerald eyes watching me like a hawk, she places her dark hand that was covered in tattoos onto my pale face.

"Judy, Judy, Judy" she says in her deep voice with a smile plastered onto her face "What a plain name for such an intriguing girl" she said running her long black fingernails down the side of my cheek

"What do you want?" I say timidly

She grips my shoulders tightly and leans in close so that we're cheek to cheek. I lean away instinctivley and her jagged fingernalis dig into my skin painfully.

Kerrie shrieks when she does this and quickly covers her mouth when the lady laughs deeply, looks over her shoulder and snarls at her.

"Get in your box!" She says darkly and when Kerrie doesn't the two figures rip their cloaks of to reveal themsleves.

Standing before me now were two gleaming Gold-Bots who were staring threateningly at Kerrie.

Oh My God

She helpless scrambles towards my bedroom and slams the door shut.

Strange, her box is in Felix's room because he was helping her oil the hinges and her joints.

The lady leans back into me and whispers "What did Alex give you before he slef destructed?"

"What?" I stutter

"Tell me!" she yelled pushing me onto the floor, her deep voice echoing loudly in the room and sending chills through me. I didn't think it was posible but her voice just got deeper.

Phoenix rushes gingerly towards me and helps me up while Felix stands in front of us facing the lady.

"We don't know anything" Felix said his voice trembling "Please just...please...tell us what you want"

The lady seems somewhat taken back by this and her face seems to soften ever so slightly but before I can know for sure she turns her back towards us and takes slow steps around us.

Circling us like she was a vulture and we were prey. She suddenly turns back to us and all indication of friendliness is gone.

"Alex stole something before he died and we believe that you might have it" she said eyeing me up and down "Considering that you are the last person to be seen with him before he broke apart"

"But you have no actual proof that she has whatever he stole and how would she take it?" Phoenix said puzzled "She had no chance to properly talk to him and he literally died in her arms, I mean have some compassion!"

The lady strides forward and slaps Phoenix's cheek, her hand leaving a red mark

"Shut up you asshole!" She said in her deep voice and turned her attention to me " I know you are hiding something and trust me when I say I'll find out!"

She turns around and takes two steps before I stop her.

"Wait" I call after her and extend my arm at them "I think I have what youre looking for" I fish through my pocket and watch as the lady's eyes go wide with anticipation

I clench the orb in my hand and feel its cold, smooth exterior and make a fist around it. I take it out of my pocket and show it to her.

I watch as her bright green eyes, now as big as saucers, shrink rapidly and her face doesn't hold the look of expectance that was there only minutes earlier.

She spins on her heel and storms out of the door, the Gold-Bots walk after her.

After they exit a Gold-Bot marches back inside to get the cloaks. The lady walks back inside and says

"You will not leave this house tonight and you are to give me any assignment files currently on you" she said staring at me before lookung at the boys and saying "Any assignments you have are to be given me now as well"

"I'm a Mechanic" Felix says softly

"I dont have any" Phoenix adds timidly

The lady nods her head and raises her eyebrows and I take the hint.

"Its the frist room on the right, the same room that Kerrie went into"I say "Its on the desk"

The lady nods, looks out of the door and jerks her head to the side before a Gold-Bot walks into my room.

"Oh" says the lady " I'll be stopping by tomorrow morning to discuss some thing"

The Gold-Bot walks out of my room clenching the file and it follows the lady.

Felix says goodbye as the Gold-Bot closes the door and all I can do is stare at the file it holds. My file. I watch the perfectly white material becomes covered in creases. I watch as the robot and the man wannabe walks out with my file.

As I stare sadly at the file something catches the light and momentarily blinds me, something smooth, something shiny, something bronze, something thats wasn't there before.

My eyes widen and my mouth opens in realisation, struggling to force out words I watch as they close the door and walk out before I can say anything.

Kerrie was in that room
