The Ministry of Magic wanted nothing but the best for the wizarding world after the defeat of Voldemort. They wanted perfect marriages and safer streets and stronger wizards, so they devised a plan, a system actually. They had every registered wizard take personality tests and surveys about their magic and then matched couples based on this information and behavioral studies. That is how Hermione Granger ended up getting her wedding dress get fitted in the Weasley living room.
She remembered rushing to the Burrow to deliver the news of her match to the Weasleys just over a month ago. She remembered how they had all assumed that her match was Ron. They were wrong though. She told them it wasn't Ron, but before she could tell just who it was, a ministry owl swooped in an dropped a letter in front of all the unmarried Weasley children. Hermione was stuck there watching each face as they read. She had watched Ginny and saw a faint frown, she watched George, she watched Charlie, she watched Percy, she watched Ron, then finally she turned to the face she most wanted to see, Fred.
She remembered the way their eyes had locked across the table and how he had a look of shock on his face, not necessarily bad. She had offered a shy smile and nod in return. Molly then chose that moment to inquire as to who her children were to marry. Charlie had informed them of a Magizoologist named Evan he worked with in Romania. George told them he got Angelina Johnson, much to the delight of several present Weasleys. Percy revealed his match was some girl named Isabelle that he had never met. Ron said his match was none other than Luna Lovegood and he along with pretty much everyone else, was shocked. Ginny said that she was matched with Blaise Zabini. Then all heads had turned to Fred who had then stood and walked over to Hermione and placed his hands on her shoulder and proudly said, "Hermione Granger".
Hermione was snapped back into the present by a pin sticking her in the hip and mumbled "sorry dear". She smiled at herself despite the pain. Her and Fred had spent a lot of time together since they had been matched and swiftly fell in love. They were now engaged (obviously as she was being fitted for a wedding dress) and were to be married in three weeks. Hermione had never been happier than her time with Fred and she was so ready to spend the rest of her life with him.
