Sunshine and Jaebutt

Youngjae's P.O.V

I woke up in my hospital room, I felt like shit. I noticed I was hooked up to tons of machines and I was clenching my bummie teddy in one hand, the other hand was intertwined with someone. I looked up to see a sleeping Jaebum in the chair beside me. I wonder how long he had been here for. My thoughts were interrupted when Kyung and Chenle burst through the door, Kyung was trying to keep strong and Chenle was in tears.

"Hyuunggg!" Chenle cried onto my chest, maybe a bit too hard because before I knew it I was bent over the bed vomiting all over the hospital floor, but it wasn't normal vomit, it was blood.

"Oh my god! NURSE! NURSE!" I heard Kyung shout before everything around me went black.

JB's P.O.V

I was woken up from my nap by a screaming Kyung. I shot up from my chair to see that Youngjae was still out and there was blood everywhere.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING KYUNG?!" I screamed in distress at the older boy.

"Don't worry Jaebum I will explain soon, just let the nurse handle things. Could you please take Chenle to the cafe for a hot drink; the nurses need some space to work." He hurriedly spoke.

I looked over to Chenle who was a wreck; I put my arm around the young boys shoulders and walked him out towards the hospital cafe. I bought myself a latte and I bought Chenle a hot cocoa with extra marshmallows. We found a free table and sat down together.

"Listen Chenle, I'm not really sure what's happening to your brother but don't worry. He is a strong boy and everything is going to be okay. Whatever you need I'm here for you."

I hadn't noticed a tear make its way down my cheek as I was speaking to the younger boy.

"Jaebum hyung, I know you care a lot for my brother, I can see it in your actions. So, I just want to tell you that we have each other and we are in this together. Stuff like this has happened before and it's really scary, but, as long as I have you and Kyungie by my side...I will stay strong for my brothers."

He flashed me the kindest smile he could through the pain and we talked about his training with SM to take his mind off of things.

A few hours later we were allowed back into the hospital room where Kyung and a nurse were waiting for us. Youngjae was still out cold.

"Hello, are you family of the patient?" The woman asked me, she must already know Chenle.

"Umm, I'm his. Best-"I was cut off by Kyung.

"This is Youngjae's partner." He told the nurse. I suppose this was the only way I was allowed in the room.

"Alright, nice to meet you, let's cut to the chase. Youngjae's condition is worsening, we're not sure how much time he has left, and with this disease it can be unpredictable. Now, there is an operation we can undergo to remove the tumour in his abdomen and help prevent the spread of the cancer. But this operation is very dangerous and there is about a 40/60 %  chance of survival. Kyung, Chenle as you're the only family Youngjae has left, you'll be required to make the decision. I suggest you three discuss things and come back to me with your decision. I will give you until the morning."

After hearing what the nurse had to say, Chenle instantly broke down into my arms, and me and Kyung couldn't help but cry. How could it be possible that this boy I was just coming to love, could be leaving me so soon? It just wasn't fair. Should he have the operation? Or should we just enjoy the last few months we have with this sunshine. I hope that we make a decision soon; I don't want to see this sunshine fade away.
