10 miles from The Farm: Snow Pack Territory: Dirt Road: Late Spring
The plain stretched out far and wide, making the small dirt road seem like an outline from a drawing. A small cloud of dust travelled down the road. In front of it, an opal white Nissan Nivarra 4x4. It travelled at ninety miles an hour down that country road. A blonde, short haired eighteen year old had one hand on the wheel and the other on the gear stick. She moved the gear stick to second gear, then first as a gate stopped the car from passing. The teen stepped out of her car and pulled the gate open, before walking back to the car and driving through, stopping to close the gate.
She drove twenty miles an hour as she reached the farm. A pure white wolf stuck her head out the window of the car, acting more dog-like than wolf-like. The teen chuckled at the wolf's strange behaviour.
"You like that, Snow?" She smiled. The wolf pulled her head back in to look at her human, smiling, before sticking her head out again. The teen pulled the car to a halt as they reached the Farm's front yard. The teen opened the car door, stepping out. "Come on girl," she said to the wolf. The white wolf jumped out the driver side door, showing a small amount of the black collar she wore. The gem that acted as a tag swayed as she moved. "Be back before dark," the human ordered the wolf.
The wolf seemed to nod before running off, leaving the teen heading into the farm house. The wolf ran into the empty barn, well what seemed to be an empty barn. The white wolf seemed to have a slight glow to her as she walked in the dark barn.
"Hey!" She barked, getting something's attention. Five wolf heads popped up from the straw.
"Alpha!" All the wolves ran to her, four were tan brown, rusty brown with black markings, while one was light grey with black fur on her back. The white wolf nodded to her packmates, looking around, sensing something was off.
"Where are Nevada and Texas?" She asked, her voice calm and gentle.
"They're at the Waterfall, Snowstorm, I think," replied the grey wolf, stepping forward.
"Thank you Rissca," she bowed her head to her pack, walking out of the barn. The grey wolf stared back at the pack, a glint in her eyes.
"Don't even think about it, Little Sis," ordered the one with more black markings of the siblings. Rissca smiled before running out the barn, following the white wolf.
"There's no stopping her, Tina," said the lightest of the siblings, standing beside Tina.
"I know, but I just wish she would listen, Caffee," Tina growled slightly.
"Where do you think she learnt it from?" The male smiled at his older sister, walking back deeper into the barn.
Two, bright yellow eyes peered from the long grass, watching a nine month old wolf pup. Her colours were white, silver grey and black. She wore a blue bandana around her neck. Her ears twitched as she listened for any sign she was being watched. The pup glanced towards the area of the yellow eyes, but failed to see them and continued walking on.
The owner of the yellow eyes stalked closer and closer, still giving time for the pup to spot him before he jumped out of the bushes, landing on the pup. The pup yelped in surprise before she realised who the wolf was. On top her was a pure black wolf with a mud ridden white collar around his neck with a yellow-y blue gem. Against the black wolf, she looked like a newborn pup, he was that large.
"Uncle Stormcloud," the pup whined, trying to get out from under the adult wolf.
The black wolf chuckled and got off her. "You still have much to learn Young Nevada, remember what I told you?" He said as the pup got to her paws.
"If the enemy can see you through the grass, you can see their eyes," she recited reluctantly, "but how, the grass is so thick?"
"You'll learn eventually," he looked down to his niece, before rising his head and voice, "but for now, go find your brother, he's at the Waterfall, go see if you can sneak up on him and Jazz."
"Okay," the pup wagged her tail before running off. "Come on, Ebony." A black raven came down from the treetops and flew down just above the pup's head. Even when Nevada was gone, the black wolf stood where he was. His ears twitched slightly as he heard the rustle of leaves and the snapping of twigs behind him.
"I think you missed a twig, Snowstorm," he said, his voice deep. He turned around to see the pure white wolf behind him, but instead of one wolf, there were two, the other was a light grey wolf with black markings. "And Rissca."
"I'm surprised you're still here Storm, usually you're long gone by now," the white wolf walked closer to the larger wolf.
"I am not a loner, Snow, I am still part of your pack," Stormcloud's tail swayed slightly, "besides-"
"Besides what Stormcloud? When the time comes, you're going to leave me once I really need you?" The white wolf growled. Her grey companion stepped back, leaving the siblings to their bickering. It was a usual habit. "Where were you that day? The day 'we' were supposed to go 'together' into the Mountain Pack Territory?"
"I-"
"Yeah, you! You were off in the stormclouds, doing your own thing!" Snowstorm growled, taking a threatening step towards her brother. "Because of you, the Storm Pack - our greatest allies - are no more." The black wolf stepped back, his eyes widened. The only wolf he would ever show fear to was his sister, and for good reason too.
"That is untrue," Stormcloud countered, his sister's muscles began to relax, allowing him to go on. "Do you know why I was not around for those few months before your pups were born? No? Because the last line of the Storm Pack is still alive." Both the white wolf's and grey wolf's eyes widened. "And she has a gem."
"Do you know where she is?" Rissca asked the much larger wolf.
"Not at the present time, I stopped trailing her once Snowstorm's pups were born."
"Then we must make it our mission to find this wolf," Snowstorm rose her head, turning to the grey wolf behind her. "Rissca, inform the pack. It seems that my brother has for once done something right." She looked at her brother, a grin on her face. Stormcloud narrowed his eyes. Rissca nodded her head and bolted back to the den site. Snowstorm and Stormcloud followed at a slower pace. A howl filled the air as the two wolves walked into the forest on the way to the barn.
