9 miles from territory border: Former Storm Pack Territory: Fallen Pine: Late Spring
Darkness awoke the next morning, slowly opening his yellow eyes and yawning at the same time. He looked over to his sister who was sleeping peacefully. Darkness yawned once again and turned his head towards Faita. His eyes widened when he saw the pup was not there, the only thing to suggest she was even there was the flattened grass and leaves. Darkness nudged his sister awake. Her bright yellow eyes slowly opened.
"What's wrong, Dark?" Silver asked, seeing the worried look on his face.
"The kid's gone," He replied, his voice had only a tint of worry in it.
"What! When?"
"I don't know, but we have to find her." Silver nodded and got to her paws. Darkness followed suit and began to sniff around where Faita had slept. Around a few seconds, Darkness raised his head. "This way," he said before running into the foilage, his sister following.
They ran on for another hour before stopping at a river. Both wolves widened their eyes, they knew if Faita had crossed there would be little to no chance of finding her. Darkness looked and sniffed around, hoping to find some sign Faita had been here and hadn't crossed the river.
Darkness snarled, finding nothing, except the fact Faita's scent had headed into the river. "She's gone," he snarled. Silver's ears drooped, her eyes lowered. Darkness looked at his sister with a reassuring look, "we'll find her, come on." Darkness waded through the flowing water with ease, his sister right behind him.
-------
The young midnight black wolf had just crossed the former Storm pack border, nine miles from the Fallen Pine tree. She had heard the conversation between Darkness and Silverwing the night before, and decided to leave before she caused more trouble. Faita knew she was the last Storm Pack wolf since that fateful day and that made her and whoever she was with a target for the Rogue wolves. Not only that, but the gem around her neck also now added more ergency for the Rogues to find her.
"Got ya!"
Faita's ears perked as the heard a comotion in the distance. Her youngsters curious instincts took over as she went to investigate what had happened. She poked her head out of a small wall of bushes and spotted a young male wolf, at least eighteen moons old. He was a weird colour gray, like jail stone walls, with light tan or brown makings on his face, legs and back. But what was even more strange about this wolf, was that he had longer legs then your average wolf.
The grey male had no care in the world as he ripped open the rabbit he caught, well until the wind changed.
"Who are you?" He growled as he spotted Faita. Faita looked at his stance, he was unbalanced and constantly shifting his weight.
"Who are you?" Faita asked, tilting her head. The male relaxed his battle stance once he realised the midnight teen wasn't going to threaten him.
"Name's Chinook," he said, raising his head higher.
"Faita," she said.
"Nice, where ya from?" Chinook asked. Faita looked down, not wanting to answer. "Oh, I didn't mean to be rude."
"No, its okay," Faita said, keeping her head down.
"Anyway, are you related to The Storm Wolf by any chance? You've got the same fur colour as him," Chinook asked. Faita was taken aback.
"No," the midnight wolf said, "so, you've seen The Storm Wolf?"
"Yeah, I've had a few encounters with him, but he is as fearsome as the rumours say," Chinook said, almost proudly. "Its not that hard though, espescially when you're in his territory." Faita's eyes widened a little. "Yeah, I suggest you watch your back around these parts. This is Snow Pack territory."
Chinook picked up the dead rabbit and ran off, his speed was clearly shown in his strides as he raced across the uneven ground. Faita stayed near the bushes before heading off deeper into the forest.
---------
The sky had turned from blue to many different shades of oranges and yellows. A dark brickstone colour wolf with light grey markings sniffed the ground. His nose-blind silver sister was following behind, using her excellent sight to try and spot Faita.
Darkness growled, "she was here, and so was another wolf."
"Do you recognise the wolf's scent?" Silver asked, stepping closer to her brother.
Darkness nodded, "it's that young nomad loner wolf, Chinook."
"Oh, I thought it was someone important and dangerous," Silver smirked.
"Don't underestimate Chinook, he may not be a skilled fighter, but his speed is unmatched by any wolf I've met," Darkness said, sniffing around more closely, "but he has a kind heart from what I know about him, and he did leave Faita alone."
"What do you mean?" Silver asked, tilting her head.
"They went in seperate directions," the dark grey wolf stated, "Chinook left in the direction to the east, where's Faita left..." Darkness widened his eyes a little.
"Faita what? Where is she going?" Silver stepped forward, towards her brother.
"She's heading towards... The human farm," he said, looking down.
"We have to get to her, before she reaches the fenceline." Darkness nodded and raced through the foilage with his sister running right next to him.
