15 miles from territory border: No Known Territory: Metal Trees: Early Summer
Faita opened her blue eyes, before widening them because standing above her was Darkness. Her muzzled opened into a smile at the sight of him, but the smile quickly faded. Darkness was trembling, his whole body was trembling. That's the moment Faita realised the blood that hit her paw belonged to Darkness. His yellow eyes were wide, both with fear and pain. His own blood began to stain the fur around his neck as Eon only bit down harder.
The dark brick stone wolf's legs gave out and he fell to the ground. Faita could only stay where she was, stunned, looking at her fallen companion.
Eon stood there, tall and proud, his bloody muzzle formed into a smile as he looked at the midnight teen and the downed wolf. "Even after killing so many wolves, even your father, that was the most satisfying," he said as blood dripped down from his muzzle.
Faita looked up at Eon, her blue eyes widened as she stood up. "What?" She asked, her voice just above a whimper.
Eon's smile widened. "Oh, I have to repeat myself. Very well. Remember that day over a year ago, the day where you lost everything. Well you see when your father grabbed me by the neck after my companion killed your mother and attempted to crush my windpipe, I let him believe I was dead. But when his guard was down while he battled my pack mate, I got back up and tore out his throat. Oh how great it was when he choked on his own blood in front of me," he chuckled at the end, as tears began to flow from Faita's closed eyes, before he began talking again, "what a joy it was seeing him die like the dog he was."
Faita screamed as her eyes and gem began to glow. "You... You tore my family away from me!" She screamed, taking a threatening step towards Eon. Eon realised what he had done and smirked. An electric ball began to form around the gem and didn't stop. Eon began backing away towards the stairs of the building.
Faita stepped over Darkness as the energy from the gem finally released, sending out a large blast. Eon quickly turned tail and ran down the stairs of the building, making his quick escape. When the electric wave died down, Faita's blue eyes and gem stopped glowing and she lowered her head, panting, tears falling down her muzzle. Her heart was tearing itself apart, one half was seeking revenge, wanting to chase after Eon and take revenge on what he did to Darkness and her family. The other half kept her standing there by Darkness.
The teen turned around and looked at her downed companion, only the faint rising and falling of his side showed her that Darkness was still alive. Barely. Faita didn't know what to do. She had only had experience cleaning wounds, not healing them, something Darkness needed more than anything. He needed herbs to ward off infection and close the wound. But considering she had no idea the difference between a herb that could be beneficial or one that could end up being lethal with a single touch, she could only stay by his side.
Her ears flicked back to the stairs, hearing something coming up. Faita immediately turned around to face whoever was coming up the stairs. Her thoughts told her it was Eon coming back up to finish the job, yet her instinct said it was help coming instead. But when a dark brown and tan dog and a light brown coyote came from the stairwell, she was not so sure. Dogs had betrayed wolves throughout history to their human packs, while coyotes were just counted as pests, always scavenging off kills belonging to wolves.
The dog stepped forward, wary of the snarling wolf. "Don't be afraid of us, Wolf, we're with your friend Chinook," he said. Once the dog said 'Chinook', Faita relaxed. The dog changed his focus from the midnight teen to the down wolf, "and it seems your friend could use some medical attention."
Faita looked down at Darkness, her blue eyes revealed she was scared, worried. Darkness' breathing was getting shallower and shallower. The coyote walked past them to the broken windows of the rusted building. The coyote's eyes looked over the city, studying certain parts of it.
