Am I About To Die?

As we finish our little breakfast, I start to strategize a full proof plan to get rid of Jay.

I know, I know. He's cute. He's fearless. He's flawless, but that's where you're totally wrong.

He's a liar. He's imperfect. He's bloodthirsty, like a career.

Jay always stares at me like I'm dinner, like I'm going to die any second. He is always looking for the perfect moment to strike;to attack me.

"I say we go out and attack, I'm ready to fight. It's been two days since a tribute has died!" Jay stabs his sword into the soft, fake dirt filled earth.

Yeah I bet you're ready to fight.

I nod as I finally think of my plan.

"I'm going to into the cave and pack up my survival pack, and then I'll be ready."

He nods, "Go ahead. I'll keep guard out here while you do that."

I smile and run into the dark cave, barley any light can escape into the cave. I quickly pack up and grab the box that we got the muffins in. I check to see if the parachute still works, and to my luck, it does.

My plan is to get some Nightlock and stuff it into the box, and then wait for my victim to grab the poison, thinking it's safe. When they eat it, they'll die.

It's a pretty smart plan, right?

I'm way better at little traps like that than actual fighting. I have few tactics for physical fights.

I turn my attention to outside as I hear some grunts of anger and I quickly stop in my tracks.

I think Jay might be in trouble...good.

I hide the container in my pack and I sneak up to see Jay fighting against a female tribute, about his height.

Her auburn hair swayed as she attacked Jay, who was loosing. Her dark brown eyes were focused on Jay's moves.

He jabbed, she deflected.

He tried to run, but she blocked him.

It was all going to go down here, and right now.

I kept in the shadows of the cave entrance, trying to make sure that I was fully hidden from both of the tributes.

"Rue!" Jay screamed.

I wanted to yell back, but I knew I couldn't or else I'd be one of the pitied fallen tributes.

The nimble tribute girl was quick on her feet, dashing away from Jay's deadly swings.

"Rue!" He yelled again, but only the wind answered him, and the sound of weapons clashing together.

Jay made a horrible move, he stabbed at her chest. She growled at him and she kicked him.

His sword went flying out of his reach.

He started to crawl for it, scrambling to his knees, but the tribute girl attacked and tackled him.

Jay laid on his back while the girl sat on his stomach area.

I watched in horror as he screamed and screamed her me; for help.

"Rue? Isn't that the girl that you have a little crush on? That's too bad,Jay. I wouldn't of turned on you if you were my ally, which you were suppose to be." She calmly said as she traced the outline of his face.

"Don't you dare talk about her like that! I love her!" He spat at her, but she only laughed at his defense towards me.

I lost it.

I don't remember much, I was light headed and I only cared about saving him at this moment.

I dropped my survival pack and I made sure that I had a knife in hand.

I ran so fast towards her that I felt like I was at the same pace as the speed of light.

Even though I don't weigh much, I jumped at her side, making her fall off Jay.

We wrestled on the ground, both of us loosing our weapons in the process.

I had a 50-50% chance of actually winning against her. We screeched and growled at each other like wild animals.

I caught I glimpse at her face as she pinned me down. Her face resembled a fox. She had a dirty looking face from fighting, some dried and fresh blood mixed with dirt.

She growled at me again, her arm against my throat. I could hardly breathe. I gasped for air, but I couldn't get anything. I started squirming under her grip, which was no use.

I yelped in pain, slowly loosing track on my vision.

And finally I realized something; I had made a horrible choice in defending Jay, and now I might just die because of it.

I also realized something else...

Jay was nowhere to be found.

Did he abandoned me or is he unconscious?
