I wake up to a dark-lit sky. I try to move but instantly feel hands around my waist. I turn my head to see Jay, his eyes halfway closed and his arms around me protecting me.

"How are you feeling?" He asks.
What a stupid question, I was harassed by a bunch of mutant bee things.

"Okay," I spit out.
I look down to see my throbbing arm, which has a pinkish tint to it.

"The other boy tribute is still out there, but he won't make it long."

I look up to see the pain in Jay's face.
I sit up quickly and look over his wounds from the bees, some welts and sting marks were all over his arms and legs.

"Did you kill them?" I ask, carefully caressing his right arm.

"Not too many, but enough that I got us both away, and I found a place to rest that's right by fresh water," He smirks.

A moment of silence passes and I would feel the awkwardness in the air.

Finally I spoke up, "We can look for the boy from 12 when we get better. If he finds us and we aren't healed, we can still hold him off. We'd out number him, 2 to 1."

Jay nods and takes my hand into his, interlacing our fingers together in a woven knot.

I lean up against him and close my eyes. I say one more thing before I drift off to sleep.

"I trust you Jay, I really do."

I can feel him letting out a sigh of relief.

Jay's POV:

"I trust you Jay, I really do," Rue says before she falls into a peaceful rest.

Finally. I've been wanting her trust for the longest time. I know that trust must be earned, but I've gotten all my things for free from my parents. I've always had an easy life, living right next to the ocean, fishing for work, and just messing around and causing mischief all around the district. I was a huge jokester back in District 4. My three younger siblings hated me when I did the pranks on them.
I could remember my little sister Erica trying to swim faster than me, but of course I'm much stronger and bigger than her, so I won.
She could've been my twin, we share the same blue-gray eyes, tan skin, and sandy blonde hair. She was only 10, but she was mature for her age; she acted like my mother. Erica cared for my other two siblings, Katie and Henry, when my mother was away. Erica helped cook, clean, fish, and trade. She is going to grow up to be quite the woman.

I couldn't help but to think about her and what will happen to her when I let Rue win? I mean Rue is beyond amazing, she's like the girl of my dreams, but I have my sister that needs me. She'd be ruin if I didn't come out as victor. We are so close to each other, and I know it's pretty lame to say but...we always share each other's secrets and talk about the news in District 4. I mean I'd seriously die if she told anybody about what I've told her. I just can't let go of my baby sister.

Wait. Am I having doubts?
No I can't, I have to make sure Rue gets out, she has a huge family to take care of. I-I love Rue.
I mean just watching her controlled and sleepy breathes make me smile, she's so perfect even while she's asleep.

I lean back onto the grass and pull Rue towards me, protectively putting my arm around her waist. She immediately nuzzles her head back into me and I can't help but smile.

It's going to be devastating when I have to leave her early tomorrow morning to track and kill Peeta, and then I'll have to find a way to make sure that Rue gets crowned victor.

For right now I just need to sleep.
Sleep helps the crazy.
And trust me, I'm insane.

I read all the comments but they all say "More!" and I'd really like to see some positive feedback about the chapter, or something that I should work on or change!
