When Dr.Flug returned we left for a StarBucks that was in town. As we walked down the sidewalk, I explained to him why I was drawn to the word evil so much in the ad.
"You little devil child! I should have never had you, you.. you evil thing!" My mom screamed at me after my fourth detention that month. She was always a strict woman.
When normal kids were called devil child or evil, they'd apologize or cry. Me as a kid on the other hand, I adored the word. I had never heard a word that described me better before that instance. My awful mother helped me realize who I was at that time, of course, I've scaled down from then, but that was just because I didn't want to go to jail.
My dad, however, was the one who taught me to do such horrible things. On the weekends I saw he, we'd go out to the woods just to steal baby deer, or to throw rocks at oncoming cars. I still remember breaking my first window. That one got me ice cream.
But when my mom took my dad to court for full custody, she won, and I didn't see him again. She then forced me into a private school for disobedient children. There, I caused the close to rule following kids to help me break every single rule possible. It took us the four years of high school, but we did it. Those were the best years of my life. When I graduated though, my mom threw me out, happy to get rid of the evil kid she gave birth to.
So then, on my own, I resulted to villainy and had a pretty fun time that led me to the job at BlackHat inc.
"That's terrible of her..." Flug mumbled, unsure if that would offend me.
"Hey, it's in the past," I paused, "I robbed her house afterwards anyway," I laughed.
"You what?!"
"I don't do thing that shallow anymore don't worry, I steal what I need to survive and that's it," I assured him. It had just hit me that he informed me before that he wasn't all that interested in being evil.
We arrived at starbucks. I then realized I had no money, but I had my ways of getting it. WIthout alarming Flug, I pickpocketed some guy smoking outside the coffee joint. I took a twenty from his wallet, and shoved the leather thing back into his pocket.
I walked up to the counter, and ordered my favourite drink. Flug got his own coffee. I slid my stolen twenty onto the counter, but Flug insisted he pay.
"I asked you to come, it's only polite-" He argued.
"I bored you on the way here, I'm paying,"
We went on for about ten minutes when the barista gave us a great idea.
"Why don't you just split it?"
Flug and I shrugged at each other, and out our money on the counter.
We got our drinks and sat own at a small table.
"So what's your deal? I told you my super lame life story, it's only fair you tell me yours,"
"I'm not nearly as interesting as you- I mean I'm kind of boring..."
For some reason, a different barista walked up to our table.
"Sir, I have to ask you to either remove the mask or leave the shop. It is making other guests uncomfortable." The woman said in a monotone voice."Uh-" I couldn't tell if he was trying to defend himself or say he was going to leave.
"Please just comply we've had multiple complaints," She sounded like she dealt with this shit all the time.
He sighed and got up. I fought the urge to punch the lady in the face. Flug noticed my anger, and slightly shook his head. He walked out calmly with his coffee, and stood in the window. He just stood there, looking in.
A bunch of couples who saw this looked extremely bothered. In fact, if I didn't know him, I'd be seriously creeped out. Anyone who didn't know him would probably assume he was about to shoot up the place. I really wanted to hit the barista in the face, but I only slammed the table as I got up to join his outside.
I stormed out of the Starbucks, purposely spilling my drink on the table so she'd have to clean it up. When I got outside, I felt raindrops fall on my face.
"We better get home fast, I think it's raining," I offered.
"It's definitely raining," A few spots on his paper bag were darker brown than the rest, proving that it got wet. He sounded frustrated with it.
"Let's not waste any time then!" I impulsively grabbed his hand and started running down the street.
Flug stumbled behind me, struggling to keep up with my running. Honestly, I loved the rain. If I could, I'd stand still in the rain for hours, but I had a feeling Flug despised it. That hunch was based on the one sentence he said about it, but it wasn't hard to figure out.
Puddles were already forming on the ground, and our socks were getting wet inside our shoes. That was always the worst feeling. As a natural action, I slipped my hoodie off and held it on top of Flug as we sprinted down the sidewalk. It wasn't an umbrella, but it kept him a little drier.
We eventually made it back to the mansion, and I just broke down in laughter. Flug joined me in the joyous action. Our situation was pretty hilarious. Flug was kicked out of starbucks on our unnamed date, it started raining, and I gave him my coat like a dapper gentleman.
We were unaware that BlackHat was standing there, arms crossed, tapping his foot. We didn't notice his presence until he cleared his throat in anger. We immediately stopped chuckling when we saw him.
"B-blackHat sir!" FLug stuttered out in surprise.
He just stared down at us, no evil grin or anything. His face was a pure scowl. If looks could kill, we'd be dead in an instant.
"Where were you?" He asked in the most intimidating voice I had ever heard.
"W-we went to the s-store sir!" Flug tried to answer.
"I doubt anything funny happened at the store Flug. You haven't even bought anything!" His was getting louder with anger.
"With all due respect sir, Flug deserves some fun once in a while. He works so hard for you, and he doesn't have anything specific to do-"
"It is not your place to speak assistant!" He raised his hand to hit Flug.
Flug bent, preparing for impact. None came. As an instinct, my arm shot up and grabbed BlackHat's hand. My mind couldn't believe what I just did. I was deathly afraid of my boss, just as Flug was, but I couldn't just stand there and watch the Doctor get abused like this So that's what I said.
"I'm sorry sir, but I can't just stand here and watch you abuse him! Flug is an absolute genius, and you should feel lucky you have him working for you!" I started shouting.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see 5.0.5 watching from afar. He looked terrified for me.
A/N Oh wow this chapter is way longer than I expected haha. Sorry for the late updates by the way, I slept in and then went to the mall with a friend who's seeping over.
