Flug's POV

I got to work on BlackHat's raygun. I knew he was going to try and use it on me, but I was too afraid to say no to him without Y/N with me. So I made it.

It was surprisingly easy to create despite the fact that it would make the victim void of all emotion. It just needed some scrap metal and tears. Literally, I had to cry into a test tube. It wasn't hard, I cry a lot.

In order to make sure BlackHat would fail to shoot me with it, I gave the gun one fatal flaw. It could only shoot once. When he would try to shoot me, I'd dodge it, and then it'd never work again. I just hoped I'd be able to move out of the way.

Your POV

I sat on the blue and white bed. It had taken three hours o try and explain to Slug was true happiness felt like. WHiteHat had even noticed the long conversation and walked in with tea.

"It seems like my coworker might be nicer soon?" WhiteHat questioned Slug with a grin, handing me a cup of coffee.

"No." Slug spat. "I want to know about it, not feel it."

I shot a look at WhiteHat with the 'he's lying' face. Slug wouldn't shut up at first about how he wanted what I had. It was surprising to say the least. I had never expected the darkly dressed FLug look-alike to want and need to know what happiness felt like. I was grateful though, that B/Y/N didn't walk in and assume the wrong thing.

"See Dr.Slug? Don't you like our new house member?" WhiteHat teased.

"You're bothering him," I explained to the cheerful demon. "He's uncomfortable because he doesn't want to see him soft."

"Ohhhh," He winked and got up. "I'll leave you then," He walked out the door and calmly shut it behind him.

"I want what you're explaining to me. How do I get it. Can I make it in my lab?" Slug was spewing questions.

"The first question, you have to find it with those you love. And for the second question, no, you can't biologically engineer happiness." I answered.

"Where do you find it?"

"No idea. You just kind of feel it in your gut. Like...when you succeed in making a new invention and you're proud of yourself, that's happiness."

"How do you get it through people?"

"I don't know, you just..do," I couldn't answer his questions.

"I have an experiment I need to test. Will you help me?" I thought he was changing the subject.

"Sure...what is it?"

He wasn't changing the subject.
