The next morning... I woke up exhausted. It was 7:50. All the memories rushed back. The rumble. I remembered Brian was still mad as hell. After awhile of staring at the wall i decided to take a shower. It wasn't that long of a shower. I came out dried my self up. I Put on a black pair of bra and underwear. I then put some jeans with rips on the thighs and a white crop top and a grey soccer hoodie. I know it's not a good idea to wear white to the sandlot. But I wasn't gonna take my hoodie off the whole time. I put my black and white vans and grabbed my phone, baseball mitt and water bottle. I headed to the sandlot I imagined Brian was already there because he wasn't in his room. On my way there I did some thinking. I liked pony but those feelings weren't as strong as they used to be. When I was with benny all of the feelings for pony just left. The next time I see pony I would tell him. I shouldn't have let him kiss me. Benny was the one I really did like.
I finally made it to the sandlot. It was 9:30. I opened the gate and saw all the boys playing. Including Brian. When I walked in the all the boys noticed me and ran to me. I was received by many hugs.
"We missed you" they all said.
"I missed you guys too" i said.
"How was it" Bertram asked.
"What happened to your face" squints asked.
"It was okay, I got to see the gang and there was a rumble there I said.
"Mhm it was more than that" I heard Brian say and walk back to his position in the field. They all looked at me with confusion.
"What was that about" Benny asked.
"Um nothing, lets go play" I said. They all nodded in agreement.
"You wanna bat first?" Benny asked.
"Yes I've been killing to bat for 3 days" I said smiling. He smiled back and ran to his position.
-skip to end of game-
It was 5. We were all at the dug out panthing, this game had been intense. Funny to say that. I was way to hot so removed my hoodie. I had completely forgotten about my hickeys. Luckily I didn't have pit stains. When I would glance at Brian he would just look away and roll his eyes. I didn't care. I was zoned out in my thoughts when I feel a bunch of water splashing down my body. I got up dripping in water. I looked back to see the sandlot boys except for Benny and Brian in the back of me. I glared at them but then started to laugh. Brian came up to me
"Nice bra" he said chuckling. I looked down at my chest and see my white shirt which became see through due to the water. I then looked up and saw all the boys staring at me including Benny. Omg. Benny quickly came up to me and gave me his hoodie.
"Here" he said.
I smiled.
"Thanks" i said and put his hoodie on, it smelt just like him.
"Now you're hoeing around with him" I heard someone say and saw Brian in the back shaking his head. All the boys gasped.
"W-what" I said with anger rising.
"You heard me" he said.
"What is he saying Julie" Benny asked lightly touching my hand. Before I can say anything Brian came closer to us
"Well you see my little sister here was hoeing around while she was at Tulsa and look" he said placing my hair to side. They all gasped. I finally realized he showed them my hickeys.
"Is that what I think it is" squints asked.
"Yup it's a hickey" Brian said. I looked down. I didn't expect him to be this mad.
"I see it, but I don't believe it" ham said
"Baddass" I heard one of the boys said.
"She's in deep shit" I heard another one say. I finally got the courage to look at Benny. He looked mad. He was looking away from me. Once we made eye contact I saw he was mad. I mean why would he, he doesn't even like me.
"Seriously Brian" I said an rolled my eyes. I was beyond mad. He was being way to extra. Brian was just smirking.
"Well you shouldn't have gone to hoe around with pony, you know I don't like him" Brian said angry. I guess he was really mad because pony is sodas brother and soda and Brian have beef. He's was kinda right. I should've been on Brian's side.
"So what you're still fucking around with Natalie and you know I don't like her" I said angrily.
"Um we gotta go" I heard the boys say.
I just looked at them and rolled my eyes. Benny just looked at me and walked away.
"Wow you just had to cause a scene infront of all of them, you know sometimes you have to just let me breathe, you can't go worrying about everything I do, it honestly gets annoying, and it also hurts to know you don't trust me enough" I said and walked off. I was beyond angry. When I reached the gate I saw Benny outside.
"What are you doing here" I asked. I was confused.
"Just waiting for you" he said and came closer to me
"Oh okay" I smiled. It was silent for awhile.
"So the hickeys are real?" He asked looking at me. I sighed.
"Yeah... but I regret it"
"What do you mean"
"I shouldn't have kissed him. I don't like him like that, I kinda like someone else and now I feel like a hoe or something like that" I said sighing.
"Don't, it's in the past, let's just forget about it" he said placing a hand on my shoulder. Every time he would touch me I swear shivers would go down my neck. I smiled at him.
"You know it's still early, would you like to go eat at the diner down the street? He asked looking at me smiling.
"Yes cmon I'm starving" I said grabbing his hand and pulling him toward the diner. He chuckled.
-at the diner-
We were seated at a booth.
"Hey can I use your phone 2 call my mom, I kinda left mine at home" he said chuckling.
"Of course" I said giving him my phone. He dialed his mom and let her know he was eating out with me and would be home late. I got to admit it was very attractive when he talked in Spanish.
"Thanks, arnt you gonna call your mom"
"Nah she doesn't care. I could not even come home she wouldn't notice" I said.
"Oh" was all he said.
"Anyways, it cute when you talk in Spanish" I said smiling. I could've sworn I saw his cheeks go red. He was about to say something but the waitress interrupted him. She was very pretty she look young, about 16.
"Hi Benny" she said chewing on her gum obnoxiously.
"Oh hi Zoey" he said smiling at her.
Woah okay. Kinda hurt. She kept looking at him twirling her hair. Benny didn't seem to notice that she was flirting with him. He would just smile.
I cleared my voice.
"Are you gonna take our orders or are you just gonna stand here looking like an idiot" I said immediately regretting what I said, not because I'm scared of her, bet I can fuck her up. Anyways but benny would think I was jealous. I mean I wasn't. Kinda.
She just looked at me.
"Excuse you" she said glaring at me and rolling her eyes.
"You heard me" I said with attitude
"Okay first of loose the attitude bitch and who do you think you are to tell me what to do" once she said that I bursted out laughing.
"I mean you are the waitress here" I said.
"Don't try to be smart... slut" she said rolling her eyes and looking at Benny.
Once she said that I got up. No one calls me a slut. She noticed and stepped back. Benny grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the booth.
"Cmon we should go" he said.
"Benny where are you going with this slut" she kinda screamed. That was it. I jumped at her and punched her. All she did was scratch me. I felt strong arms around my waist.
"Cmon Julie let's go" he said holding me hand and walking out. I was sure she saw us hold hands. We were outside
"Sorry about that" I said.
"It's alright, I would've done the same" he said smiling. I noticed we were still holding hands.
"You have real balls facing her, she one of the populars of the school I guess" he said.
"Really... does she like you or something" I asked. Wow that was a risky question.
"Yeah but I don't like her. I don't want a girlfriend. It will just distract me from baseball" he said shrugging. Well I lost my chance. You see what I mean when I say he sends me mixed emotions.
"Oh" was all I said.
"Wanna go to the burger place" he asked
"Yeah let's go" I said smiling.
-after the burger place-
We were walking back surprisingly still hand in hand. It was fun. It was 8:30 by now. As we were walking back still hand in hand I got a message from Brian.
Don't come home moms drunk crazy
"Benny can I stay over for a bit" I asked.
"Is that even a question?" He said smiling.
"Thanks, my mom is drunk right now, and when she drunk she gets a little scary" I said sighing.
"Oh, if you want you can stay the night" he said.
"Really?... you mean your mom would be okay with it" i asked.
"Yeah I mean she really does like you" he said.
"Awee".
We made it to his house. He opened the house with his key. We walked in and his family was there sitting in the living room watching tv. They all turned there attention towards me. Our hand we still interlocked. I quickly let go.
"Hi" I said smiling.
"Oh hey Julie! Nice to see you again" his mom said getting up and hugging me.
"Nice to see you again Mrs Rodriguez" I said smiling.
"Hey Julie" said his sister and dad.
"Mom is it okay if Julie stay over tonight, there's kinda a problem at her house" Benny said.
"Of course! You're welcome here anytime" she said.
"You can sleep with benny, if you want" she said and winked.
Benny went with his dad.
"You know a lot of girls comes visit Benny and your the only one that he lets in" she said smiling. I chuckled. I think my cheeks were as red a tomato.
Elizabeth came up to me.
"Did you 2 eat already" his mom asked.
"Yeah we went out to eat at a burger place" I said.
"Oh okay"
"Awee your first date" Elizabeth said smiling
"Elizabeth it wasn't a date, were just friends!" He said annoyed. I laughed.
But I knew he was getting uncomfortable so I stopped.
"Cmon Julie, before they say anything else" he said grabbing my hand.
"Awe look he's holding her hand" Elizabeth said laughing.
"Y'all cute" she said. I chuckled and he quickened his pace up the and stairs.
"Sorry about her she's crazy" he said.
"It's fine Benny i don't mind, I find it funny" I said smiling.
He just chuckled.
"You can sleep on my bed,ill sleep on the floor" Benny said.
"Why you sleeping on the floor"
"I don't know I thought you would say no it I slept wit you"
"Benny it's just sleeping" I said.
"True" he said.
"Plus were bestfriends so It don't matter"I said smiling.
"Alright good" he said and got in bed with me.
"Plus we already done this at the camp out" I said.
"Goodnight Benny boy" I said.
"Goodnight Julie girl" he said. I laughed.
As soon as I positioned my self. I instantly fell asleep.
-Benny pov-
She looked cute when she slept. What am I saying! Stop I don't like her. I pulled her closer to me. Just in case she was cold. My hand was around her waist.
Today when I found out she had hickeys from ponyboy I got mad as hell. I don't know why. She told me she wasn't going out with him. I got more calm when she said she didn't like him and that she regretted kissing him. Good thing he lives in Tulsa. Far away from her. Not that I care. Spending time with her today was great. At the diner she seemed to get jealous when Zoey was "flirting" with me. Does she like me?! I got kinda excited. I can't like her. I have to focus on baseball. I don't like her !
