The next day.  .  .
I woke up with a smile on my face. I had a date with benny today.
I got up and put on some blue skinny jeans and a black thrasher shirt. I grabbed my blue vans and took care of my necessities such as perfume, deodorant and stuff like that. I headed out. I met with all the boys there. Benny greeted me with a kiss. And ofc all the boys made remarks. We ignored it. The games ended at 5. We were at the dug out drinking water. I was sitting next to benny. We were holding hands.
"You still down for tonight" he asked.
"Yeah baby" I said.
"Well I'm gonna head home because I don't want to look like a monster for our date" I said getting up.
"Shut up, you don't look like a monster" he said.
"Yes I do" I said.
"Alright but you're a beautiful, hot monster" he said. I laughed.
"I'll see you later babe" I said and pecked his lips.
"Bye everyone see you tmr" I said.
"Bye julie" they all said
I arrived home and quickly entered the shower. After like a ten minute shower. It was 6:00. I put some light mascara on and lipstick. When it comes to make up I don't do much. Lmao. Then I went to pick my clothes out. I decided to wear (anything you want). Along with the jean jacket Johnny gave me. I took care of my necessities and blow dried my hair. I grabbed my purse put some lipstick, perfume, switchblade and other stuff in it. Then I curled my hair lightly from the bottom and lastly put my shoes on black and white vans. It was 7. I didn't think I would finish but I did. I unplugged my phone from the charger and headed down stairs. My brother was on the couch watching tv.
"Where are you going dressed so nice" he asked.
" a date with benny and he's gonna be here any minute" I said.
"He better not hurt you" he said. I looked at him.
"Let's hope not" I said and that's when the doorbell rung.
"Okay bye brian, I'll see you later" I said and went to go answer the door.
"Careful sis" he said.
I opened the door. Benny was their in a black button up Holister shirt, some khakis and black and white vans. He looked sooooo good.
"Woah" was all he said.
"You look really good" he said. I blushed.
"You do to benny" I said and looked down.
"Are you ready to go" he said smiling and offering me his hand.
"Yes" I said interlocking out fingers together. We then started to walk.
"Where are we going benny?" I asked.
"You'll see" he said. We made a small conversation on the way to where ever he was taking me.
We arrived at the diner he took me to when he was showing me around. We event inside.
"This place brings back memories" I said. He nodded.
"I hope you don't mind, or do you want to go somewhere else more better?" He said sounding nervous.
"Here is fine" I said and smiled. I noticed ever since I moved here I became more soft. We sat down at the same booth we did the first time.
"This was the booth we sat on the first time we came" he said
"You remembered" I laughed.
"I didn't think boys were to good at remembering stuff like this" I said.
"I don't know why but I tend to remember/notice small things" he said.
"I don't know why but I think it's cute when boys actually remember stuff like that" I smiled. After I said that the same waitress that served us the first day came to get out orders.
"Hey how may I help you" she said and smiled.
"What do you want Julie?" He asked.
"Im can I get a hamburgers, fries and a coke" I said.
"I'll get the same" Benny said.
"Okay so it be hamburger, fries and 2 cokes" she said we nodded. When's she was about leave. She came back.
"Are you two a thing yet?" She asked.
"Uh actually yes" Benny said.
"Don't think I didn't forget you two" she said.
"I remember you both. I knew you and him would make it anytime soon" she said. I laughed.
We smiled.
She smiled and went Into the kitchen. Me and Benny carried a long conversation. She later came back with our stuff. We ate in piece. She also brought us a milkshake. We were finished. We were just talking there. I heard the door open. I saw it was Philips and his friend. When we made eye contact I looked away quickly. I felt bad for what I did to him. I honestly liked playing with him. But the sandlot boys will hate me if they found out I hung out with Philips. I'll just keep it a secret for awhile. Philips kept turning to me. Benny was talking to me. But I completely zoned out.
"Hey are you okay" Benny asked touching my hand.
"Uh- yeah sorry I zoned out" I said and smiled.
Benny realized Philips was here.
"What a jerk man" he said. I chuckled.
Philips kept looking at me. Benny noticed.
"Let's go"he said and grabbed my hand.
"Benny wait my purse" I said and walked back to the booth to grab my purse. I grabbed my purse and was about to walk off but he called my name.
"Julie"
"What do you want Phillips" I asked.
"Nothing just to say hi" he said. Him and his friend laughed. What so funny?
"What the hell are you laughing at?" I asked coldly. Hanging around with Dally Winston gets you real tuff.
"The way you overreacted" he said smirking. He a weirdo.
"Well I don't find it funny" I said. By that time Benny had walked over to us.
"Leave my girl alone Philips" Benny said grabbing his hand. Philips smirked. Turned into a frown.
"Cmon let's go babe" I said. I heard Philips laugh again. I got heated.
"Dam what the fuck is so funny to you" I said annoyed. They stepped back.
"Is it because o stopped hanging out with you, well I'm sorry but my friends are more important than you" I said.
"Yes it is. You know I didn't know what I did wrong" he said.
"I told you at the beginning me and you were nothing, I don't know why you still mad about it, just leave it me and you can't be friends" I said and walked off. I got use to not feeling any emotions but ever since I'm moved here I've been feeling them. I needa have a call with Dally. Benny walked in the back of me. Then I realized I said everything Infront of him. I mentally face palmed myself. I looked at him. He looked mad.
"You and Philips-" he was cut off by me.
" before you jump to conclusions me and Philips didn't have a thing" I said. He didn't say anything.
"Remember that day I went to the park by myself, well Philips joined me there I clearly told him I couldn't hang out with him because you guys will be mad and stuff like that. But i don't know what happened, but we needed up playing soccer together for some time but the day I told you I liked you was the same day I told Philips we need to stop hanging out and yeah he's mad because of that. I'm sorry I should've told you earlier" I said. He looked at me. He shook his head. Fuck.
"I'm not mad" he said. I have him a confused look.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well I am kind of mad you were hanging with the enemy but you told him we were more important to you than him" he said. I sighed and hugged him.
"Thank you Benny" is said and hugged.
"I thought you were gonna hate me" I said. He chuckled.
"I can never hate you, no matter how mad I am" he said.
"Thanks for understanding, it was wrong of me to hang out with him in the first place" I said.
"Cmon let's leave this behind, wanna head home?" He asked. I nodded and took his hand. The rest of the walk home was peaceful and I was so glad he wasn't that mad. We made it home. We were Infront of my house. I hugged him.
"Thank you for tonight" I said resting my head on his shoulder.
"No problem babe, anything for you" he said. I smiled and kissed his neck. I let go of him.
"I have to go my mom is gonna kill me if I come any more late" he said.
"Alright bye Benny" I said. He hugged and kissed my lips. He was half way. But he came back and gave me another kiss this kiss asked longer. I broke the kiss
"Hurry before you mom kills you" I said laughing. He chuckled.
"See you tomorrow at the sandlot" he said and ran off. I walked in my dad was knocked out on the couch. I brought him a cover. I was heading to my room and my mom popped out.
"Ugh your back" she said. I could tell she was drunk.
"Yes I am" I said and tried to walk pass her.
"She pushed me and I landed in the floor where there was broken glass. I had scrapes on my hands.
"WHAT THE FUCK MOM?!" I yelled. She laughed. I got up.
"Your sick ! You know that" I yelled and was about to enter my room.
"Your a worthless piece of shit. I should have aborted you" she said. I felt anger.
I just ignored it.
"Are you listening to me" she yelled.
"Yes I heard but guess what I won't let that get to me" I said. She walked closer to me. She slapped me. I felt my cheek burn.
"You need help" i yelled and ran to my room. I locked the door. She left me alone after that. I cried.
I called Brian.
B-Brian, J-Julie
B- what's up.
J- where are you. I said shaking.
B- im at my girls house why?
J- don't come home moms drunk. I whispered.
B- are you okay sis?!
J-  I'm fine(i lied)
B- oh okay careful, I love you okay
J- okay I love you too
I hung up after that.
I thought about what my mom said.
"I should have aborted you" I cried.
I cried myself to sleep.
